The studs are not screw in. They push out of their slots sideways. I just gave them a slight tap with a screwdriver to remove them.

Hope this helps.

Great! So doing this, I should be able to find the same type studs for replacing. Where did you pick yours up from? Locally I have Home Depot and Lowes close by. Having not seen the original studs I assume there is some sort of head to hold them in place.....
Thanks again for the info.....

I am noticing that on most of these installations the air extractor seems to be in the wrong spot. It is too far back towards the windshield perhaps this is because of the hood on the 2013's and earlier are different?
I measured mine and the space from the front of the hood to the extractor is 9.5". The extractor is 22" and the space behind to the windshield is 16.5".
It is clearly visible to be more towards the front of the hood.
Not trying to criticize anyone's work and perhaps that's the only way they'll fit, just thought people may want to know.

I can't say there is a difference other than the bumper cover obviously. I know the shop I as dealing with thought about me just getting a new hood and but when they went to the dealership down the street and brought back a 2014 SS and swapped the hoods, there was a noticeable gap from the cowling to the bumper cover.
When we looked at the pictures from the thread, it would appear that the grill sits further back on the hood but if you measure it and set the template in place, it only looks to be too far back. As 4 of us looked at it, it creates an optical illusion. Really really weird how the eyes play tricks on you. Mine sits exactly as the instructions set forth but it does look in pics to be further back. With my tray temporarily in place until I do what has been done to secure it properly in this thread, my drainage will be channeled right at the radiator.

Like I said, the 2014 hood fits but there is a gap with the bumper cover where the new lines meet the previous years lines. Otherwise a hood swap would work perfectly of that's what one wanted to do.

This mod does play tricks on the eyes in how it sits and my shop measured more than twice so they only had to cut once.

The ones Eddiefuzz used witch have a head on them that are cohesive with the extractor according to him are Toilet bolts that you can get at Home Depot or equivalent.

Home Depot in the hardware section is where I got mine. I believe Lowes carries them also. They have Aluminum and steel strips.

Yes, Jerry is right, I replaced the short studs that come with the extractor with TOILET BOLTS. Toilet bolt has a flat rectangular head that slip right into the slot perfect. They are brass, so they won't rust and they can be trimmed easy. Remember just do the two front and two back bolts. I also got 4 stainless steel wing nuts for easy removal. I have mine off all of the time, unless rain is forecasted. BTW My Heat Extractor sits as far back as possible.

This has been asked may times and the link below is the only one I know of that s "says" it will fit. But I have not had anyone confirm this. We have had a member order the stock extractor and rain tray and he aid it did not clear.

toilet tank studs

I got mine at the local Ace Hardware. I am sure that Lowes & Home Depot also carry them. They are brass and intended to hold a toilet water tank to the bowl base. They have flat rectangular heads that help to hold them in place.

Hope this helps.

OK picked my studs up yesterday at Lowes. From what was said the originals will slide out with a screwdriver and the two up front need to be 2" and re center studs cu to 1 3/4". I assume the rear studs will work fine.

I really want to do this, but I would need the tray to fit my supercharger. After looking at the installation instructions from SLP it doesn't seem as stable as this. One of you intelligent guys need to come up with a tray that will fit this and a supercharger haha.

Here is the link to SLP installation and it looks like it will only be good for a 2014 with the stock setup.
