Man I can't wait to get out and run my car again. I will be going to Marion, SD to the drag strip a few times this year as well as hopefully 4 or 5 trips to MAM by Omaha. I would love to hit some car get togethers down that way!! I'll have to check out the thread and yes LPE FTMFW

Its all good man.. If you want to have closed ears and deny the basic/ common perception of the GTOs appearance that is fine.

I am talking about public perception and criticism, not how fast it is, or where it's styling was derived from. I'm not talking about Pontiac, Holden, 60s era model cars, or G8s. I am talking about 2004-2006 GTOs.

and to answer your question I would say my hood came from the factory. And my hood doesn't look anything like a GTO hood (from my perspective)


If it makes you feel better- My car was mistaken for a GTO by a ford salesman. lol--


PS- I have yet to see a populist view that the G8 is a "blah looking car" or a car that looked like it stole its styling ques from a Cavalier.


If you read my previous posts, I say that the GTO has grown on me, and I admire and respect them now. But I am also someone who remembers all the flack Pontiac/ GM caught over the boring design they introduced with the GTO. (Much criticism is still being dished out, but had died down, and the car died from production)

with a Name like GTO people just expected more. Many people were disappointed.
You couldn't go on a car forum on the internet that didn't have a majority of folks that were dogging the styling or at very least, was disappointed in it.
