How clean was the cut? Did you have much control over keeping it a straight cut?

I just wouldn't use a jigsaw as much, and I am in the market for a nicer new dremmel. So if a higher level model can get the job done I'd rather go that route.

With the fine metal blade it was pretty good. The cut is not visible anyway, so it's not a real problem. A small file would smooth it out if you wanted it smoother. I just left it and when I finish the installation ( I still need to apply the adhesive when it warms up some ) I am going to mask it off and paint all the edges black like the water deflector.

You're a pioneer with all them ZL1 replica hoods! How's V6 clearance with the ZL1-style water management tray?

LOL I will have a better idea later this week when I put the hood on the car I believe I will be ok as my K&N CAI is shorter than the stock intake but we shall see.

It looks like the ZL1 diverter does not come as far forward as the one that come with the insert they make. Do you need to also buy the drain tray that the ZL1 has that mounts above the radiator?

Yes I purchased it for the fiberglass hood I have not and let me tell you it works great.

It catches all of the water and drains it out the sides. I paid $23 from my dealership.

Do you have the part number for the drain tray?

Thanks,
I wonder if it would be a good idea to get one even using the ACS water drain.
