I have so many comments running through my head right now but must refrain myself.

IMO the thing that makes autocross or a track nice is that the lower HP cars can do well, assuming the suspension is decent and the driver mod is ok. Plus going in a straight line for a 1/4 mile? Big deal, it's over in less than 14-15 seconds in a stock V6.

I don't see how going 95-105 mph quenches your thirst if you're a speed junkie lol not to mention you're only at the top in speed for a second or so.
Agreed its just that 1/4 racing is dramatically cheaper and easier on the car than track racing. I feel like a track car needs to be a dedicated track car.

Yes and no. You can make that argument about a 1/4 mile car. BUT if you are going to the 1/4 track to just run your car and have a good time (like all of us with a V6) you can do that too at the autocross course. I think it can be safely said that if you want a (fast) 1/4 car OR track car you would probably be going with an SS anyways, lol.

I know road course racing is substantially more expensive than the 1/4 mile considering you have to pretty much replace brake pads and brake fluid every race. Tires also take massive wear on the road course. Don't have experience with autocross so I can't comment on that. 1/4 mile racing is just something you can drive in with a daily driver, race and then leave all for 15-20 bucks depending on what they charge you.

I will probably at least be trying autocross soon though. No sense in having full suspension and not putting it to use once in a while

Agreed, Autocross seems to be the happy medium, depending on the autocross course set up, you can still achieve some decent speeds. Now couple those speeds and going into a slalom or tight turn, now that's fun.

That was my initial thought, definitely fun to test the limits of the aftermarket suspension

Baylor have you ever looked into going to the course at San Marcos? I hear it's a great track to go to

hmm, no I have not. That's about a 3.5 hour drive (one way) from my house. It looks really good (and I've heard good things). I just want to make sure my car is exactly how I want it, or close to it to justify the drive and probable hotel for a night.
