Yeah already saving for a clutch at a minimum, but heads will likely make the list too to help drop that boost and keep the temps down.

Do we have a thread for E85 on the ZL1? I've heard 25-30 rwhp and also 75-100 rwhp with bolt ons. Seems inconsistent...

Looks like you've either got some timing pull, knock retard or AFR richening that started happening around 4300 based on the way the whole curve took a step-shift downwards. Did they happen to do a log?

It was super hot and muggy that day, and the car literally was placed on the dyno as soon as I showed up, so it never cooled down. No knock, I have that monitored on my Aeroforce. IAT2's never went above 125-135 either. Now this was an outside dyno event, and it rained that morning. The rollers were wet, and I was the first car on the dyno. I was thinking it could have possibly been due to that. I also made sure traction and stability control were both off, but the dyno operator had to shut the car down while he strapped her down. I asked if he made sure he had the traction button in for 7 sec's vs placing it into PTM. He said yes, but he looked awfully confused when he was pressing the traction button. Question... Does the ZL1 utilize the IAT1's (before the blower), or IAT2's (after the blower) to determine timing retard when temps get hot? I know on my Cobalt SS Supercharged, the IAT2's were the critical temps when it came to timing and power, but I see a lot of members on here only mention IAT's which is not specific. If that's the case, it could be the reason for the dip in my power curve. While IAT2's stayed in the 125-135 range, IAT1's were a good deal higher.

The temp at which timing is retarded is determined by your tune and can be modified if you know someone with HPtuners or the like. Care should be taken. Better to reduce IAT2's with a better intercooler and CAI, Icebox and intercooler reservoir will help cool too. If you're in a warm climate, you can reduce the intercooler coolant ratio to be more water and less antifreeze. Some run straight water since it's not shared with the engine coolant it won't boil. |

After doing further research the step down my graph took was due to the cat protection. As I mentioned in my original dyno post it was a disgusting muggy day when I performed the pulls (74 degrees 91% humidity). The car was strapped down to the dyno with no cool down after a 30 min drive with two back to back pulls (hood closed). During normal data logging on the street, I notice no adverse KR or high IAT2 temps, and the car runs very strong. I'll re-dyno this spring or fall and see how she performs.
