I think there just needs to be REASONABLE cause and effect evaluation. There is another thread on the Camaro6 side indicating, "there is more to the OP's story." I don't know much about that but the greater argument here is, 'reasonable' cause and effect.
We all are smart enough to know that tearing an engine down, forging the internals, adding superchargers or turbo's and putting down 900 RWHP and taking it to the dealer for engine warranty is ludicrous. But so are some unrelated failure, "non OE" mods. I wonder if there is any correlation to the fact that the Mustang is kicking their a$$ in sales? Not a great way to reward OUR loyalty, IMO!

Seat covers, pine tree air fresheners, fuzzy dice on the mirror, carnauba wax on the paint, window tint. All additions of non OE parts. All have the same connection to the oil pump as a catch can ,none. |

Im normally of the mindset that you pay to play and if you mod then you're on your own. My big issue here is that the oil pump failed which is a highly documented and common problem with this motor. No one and I mean no one on this earth in their right mind can proof to me how a catch can can cause a oil pump failure. If you can, I take it all back and side with GM. I could however see how playing with the PVC system could cause motor waer issues and ring sealing issues. That isn't the case here from what we know.
I will say though, I do nothing to my new cars anymore because all the manufacturers are tightening up on this stuff. |

It doesn't matter what I think or you think, neither one of us is supplying the warranty, the manufacture is within the constraints of law.

I searched but I can't find it. It was more a post or two in what I believe was the 'bolt-on, mod' sub forum. Probably an off-the-cuff remark but I made a mental note seeing it.

The sad thing is that Ford Racing offers its own oil separator now, but Ford could technically still deny warranty because Ford Racing is considered a separate entity as of right now:

Sounds similar to performance shops right in Chevy dealerships, one would believe the performance work to be covered because it was done at the dealer.
