I guess I'll put some more time in the saddle before I make my final conclusion. It is louder then I was expecting however.

Are you serious? Man i though i found the perfect exhaust...but im just like you i like how it sounds but if its crazy loud on the inside then i dont think this is the right exhaust for me...let me know when you come to your final conclusion...

thanks

Scrming do you know what the numbers were on db meter with the stock system? and honestly should i get this exhaust (ver. 2.0) if im concerned about the cabin noise being too loud? would i be able to hear the radio and carry on a good conversation with who ever is in my car with this exhaust? thanks for your help...btw any promotions going on now for this exhaust system beside the fact that its on sale for $499?

This is exactly the sound I was going for.. and if any of you are wondering I'm 41..

I will say though, installation was a BREEZE.. right up to the point I went to install the driver side exhaust... I'm sure MRT has pretty decent QC but the inlet was slightly off.. this cause a bit of frustration and cursing as it would not go on until I removed the center brace and dropped the entire stock exhaust system a few inches.. then I was able to get it where it needed to be. It then took a little manipulation to get the tips the same as they are welded on but hey, if they were bolt on they'd be easier to line up but then that's just another point to worry about loosening up.. If I hadn't had the issue with the driver side I would have had this thing on and in place in about 30 mins.. as it was it took about an hour and a half..

Lastly, I simply backed up onto ramps in the garage to do this job.. no sweat..

Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend this system.. at $429 it sounds better then I could have hoped..
Very cool! And at $429 this must be version 1.0.... D'oah... I just noticed your subject is ver 1.0!!!

As for the install... this is one draw back I see of an axle back vs a cat back... there is always some variability in the stock exhaust from the factory... even with Mustangs where the mufflers actually bolt on, we found that some times you had to adjust the upstream pipes regardless of whose after market muffler you put on.. thinking its the same here... with a cat back you remove that variability..

Glad you got it figured out! And get a few miles on the pipes and it will sound even better!

When you are just cruising the cabin noise is definitely not an issue... I can actually talk just fine using the bluetooth for my phone... and thats with 2.0 and the jbas... I can even accelerate pretty hard and still talk with no problems... typically i don't talk when i go WOT.... LOL!

as for any promotions... none that I'm aware of... perhaps in the spring...

tmac1granger33,
What did you use to finish your wheels to get them to be black. They look pretty sweet on the black car.

NO, the Rev limiter is not set to 118MPH... and YES, driving in this manner does affect MPG...

What i like about the 2.0's is the great throaty sound on the exterior and the cabin sound is quiet yet you can enjoy it. I have the radio on without cranking it. Its perfect for me.

As far the install I had the same positioning problem on the passenger compared to pleigh having to adjust the driver side. I am sure it is the variance in each car and not a MRT problem. It is still an install anyone can do if they like to tinker around or change their own oil.

Im gona order my exhaust within the next month and im still on the fence between V1.0 and V2.0....I love the deep sound of V2.0 what i am worried about is spending $600 on an exhaust that is only a little bit louder then stock....I mean everyone sais the cabin is quiet so can you even tell the exhaust is there wile ideling or crusing inside the cabin?

I had the same questions that you do and was on the fence between 1.0 and 2.0. I really wanted to hear that throaty sound in and out of the cabin. By reading some of threads with the 1.0 there were attempts to quiet down the cabin sound with insulation in the trunk. IMO, that told me that I did want to start get irritated and get tired of how loud it would be. Have you seen the video that scrmng produced with in cabin testing of the 2.0. Listen to this and especially at the end when he punches it. That sold me and now I know I made the right decision. I tried to paste scmngs video below but not smart enough to get it pasted in right. lol. Go to the 1st page of this thread and you will find this video.
