Dude, you're not a DB for liking your V8 better than a V6. You're coming off like a DB for trying to belittle people who don't have the innate need to have it right away and just enjoy their ride for the sweet machine it is. 304hp really isn't Mamby Pamby, all things considered. If I could afford to put almost 50k into a car at this point in my life..you bet your ass I'd be driving a 2SS/RS gucci model. Mine is full jam minus the sunroof (which I didn't want) and a fun engine that is affordable on both payments and insurance. In a few years, I may trade up for the top down model. Until then I'll be driving my Camaro with pride. If I planned on weekend track trips it would be different but it's a daily driver. I don't get why people have to put down others choices and such to pump themselves up. Enjoy what you've worked hard for regardless.

This turned into a penis length contest.

90% of the SS owners are posers anyway, all talk no race an occasional street run if they are positive they will win.

Internet blah blah blah

Now to you.....you bought what you wanted so leave the V6ers alone.

Yes, you bought the slowest literbike out of the big 4.

You don't have to defend your choice, I know it's what you decided YOU wanted.

But still, it was the heaviest and slowest for that model year.

I drive an SS. But I almost want a V6 in my garage also. They both kick ass imo. Chevy didn't make a single mistake with any of these Camaro models.

I wouldn't worry about it. Most people can't tell the difference or they wouldn't be asking. The V6 has nearly the same HP as my 2001 Z-28 V8 and gets 25+ MPG on regular. The synergy green package fit my budget and I'm not dissapointed in the performance of the V6 at all. It has plenty of heart. I do wish it had a little more volume in the sound. I enjoy waking my neighbors. This is my fifth new Camaro and my first V6. I'm happy camper.

I haven't had a single person seem disappointed that I "only" had the 6, though I do get asked the question a lot. And I wouldn't give a damn what other people think of it, because I love this car. Anyone who calls the V6 "slow" is arrogant and simple. Not as fast as cars costing over 10k more, perhaps, but that saved 10k can go a long way in closing that gap in power.

I could have managed to shoulder the price of the v8, but it would have required cutting back (or giving up) several of my hobbies (the truck I traded in for the V6 I got was a $600\month payment, and cost more for insurance and diesel fuel). And I love modding my cars, which takes cash...and getting the V8 AND modding was something a bit outta reach financially for me. I decided I'd rather pay less up front and have my fun instead. I'd rather build my car from a factory base than let the factory do all the work\have all the fun.

When they ask me if it's the 6 or the 8, I proudly say the 6. The only thing the 8 has that the 6 doesn't, that I would really want, is the V8 sound. The SS badge means little to me, since I shave badges off every car I buy anyhow...

A dude in a truck pulled up next to me and asked if my car was an automatic. I said no, it's a manual. Then he asked if it was a 4-speed (yeah, I know... haha). I said no, it's a 6-speed. Then he asked if it was a V8. I said no, it's the V6. I saw his facial expression change, so I volunteered that it had 300 HP. He was very impressed. I proceeded to drive away and chirp the tires while entering second gear.

People just don't know about this V6, yet. For years and years, the V6 lacked guts. And while it's still not the heart-thumping 426 HP monster the V8 is, it's a legit car in it's own right.

had a guy pull up next to us at a stoplight yesterday in an Explorer, He started motioning for me to roll down my window... I did and he said, "man that is one sweet ride, does it have a 350 in it?" I said, "no it has a 304Hp 3.6L V6." He hs said "wow, really?" I said, "yep", he said ,"what is the biggest you can get?", i said "a 6.2L 426Hp in the SS".. He said, "Man thats great, they did a fantastic job on ALL those cars.." Then the light turned green and I sped away LOL....
So the V6 does get respect from most people, at least the ones that know what it means to have a 300+hp in a V6...

You know.....that is the only reason I got the SS. I knew the only thing people would ask is: "Did you get the V-8?" or "Is that an SS?"
