Your not going soft on us are you haha!

I totally agree with you, even after seeing the other pictures Fen posted, while better the design of this still just seems Meh to me.

I really don't think anyone will share this opinion, but I actually think the Lincoln MKC looks better than this. BUT Still need to see it in person

The Lincoln design to me seems to flow better, where as to my eyes the XT5 design seems a little confused

That haunch over the rear wheel really throws off that angle. I understand why then went with the more linear approach (caddy design now) but it does not look good. I agree on the Lincoln design. I think the new MKX or whatever it is looks great. Looks very good in the new commercials.

I think that is what is really throwing me off on the Caddy. The haunch over the rear wheel that transitions into a real aggressive beltline that gets smaller and lower as it goes towards the front of the car just throws something off for me

I would also take the Lincoln MKC over the XT5, based on exterior looks. But I need to see more.

So a higher up at Holden said the next Commodore was going to be on the same platform as Camaro...

Interesting. That raises a bunch of questions though. Would that mean the Commodore's twins from around the world (including the SS sedan) will get a new generation? I can't see doing a new Commodore solely for the Australian market without spreading the tooling cost among other global cars.

Where would it get built? Holden manufacturing is getting closed down. Lansing-Grand River alongside the ATS/CTS/Camaro? I think its a toss-up as to whether or not they'll have enough capacity to deliver all those cars without running a 3rd shift. Oshawa is in desperate need of new product & is setup to do RWD cars so that could work, and the Canadian dollar has dropped recently making it an awful lot cheaper to build cars here than just a couple years ago.

If Holden does a new RWD Commodore on Alpha then I don't see it being Australia-only as well. It also brings up the question of what Insignia will end up being for Holden, perhaps the replacement for Malibu.

There was also talk of building the Avenir and sending it to Australia as a Commodore.

Apparently it's now CTS and XTS V-sport as opposed to Vsport.

Back to you regularly scheduled programming.
