Has anyone changed out to all season tires?Any recommendations? I have studded snows but not enough tread left to leave the oem tires on this yr like I did last yr.

What a great Camaro Day yesterday. As Derek and Scott converged on the MickyD's in Longmont Larry and Garth also rolled to meet up with them. To our surprise Cheri also was with Garth. Whooooohoooooo! Our mission for the day was to get Ted up to pick up the panty dropper. Thats the new name of Ted's car by the way. Wonder if he will get custom plates? So after a few minutes of discussion and Garth filling his belly with a cheeseburger and coke we were off. Of course we all had to rev em up under the over pass to echo off the walls. To bad there was not a tunnel on this trip. Onto the highway we went. On Ramp = pure fun. About the only spot you can totally just let it open up this time of year. We all dashed onto the freeway with Derek saying something about 130 mph...Not sure about that but then again you never know. Driving in somewhat light traffic, listening to favorite music and being in the Camaro was great joy. Four in a row....whooosh whooosh whooosh and whooosh....folks were enjoying the unusual show of Chevrolet power and charm. Pullled off the highway at exit for Ault and hiway 14. Around a corner and onto the frontage road to Teds. A few nice corners to play on and about a mile of no traffic straightaway to play on. As you might think this opportunity was not one to let pass by. As we came around the corner into Teds subdivision...he was standing in the front yard. Before even coming to a complete stop he was opening the door and trying to hop in....I think he was really wanting to get to Laramie fast. Garth and I were told to not hurry so Brian would have a chance to finish the panty dropper. So we all just got out and stretched our legs. Razzed Ted a bit and reliived the drive up. Scott was grinning from ear to ear..I think he had been drinking all day since it was his birthday. No serioiusly he was just loving the camaro life and telling stories like he had been doing it all his life. His daughter was with him and would just roller her eyes at him. bahahahaha. Finally Ted coaxed us all into our cars again and off we went. Next stop Cheyenne Loves Truck stop for fuel, more food, more talk, and Andy, Pepper and Chris. Driving to Wyoming was very calm as I was driving lead car. And knew this area is prone to speed checks....end of the month...Holiday....no reason to be stupid was there. Ted and I had a great time going up. At one point I said I bet they are wondering why we were wandering all over the road. Bet they think we are looking at titty pictures on Ted's phone or something. Ted just laughed and said he would put them away...jk Actually, we were looking at car parts and remembering the build and the highs and lows along the way. Into the Loves we drove. 4 cars pulled into the pumps to top off like a yellow flag at a nascar race. Rumbling in next to pumps, out and fill, ladies run to the rest room etc etc. Man it was cold in Wyoming by the way....Glad we got a state line to keep that shit north of the border. After fuel we pulled around and found a nice parking area..Did our best job of spacing and parked the beasts as we all dashed into the Wendy's for some more snacks and talk. Scott had to sit in just the right spot to keep an eye on his new car. He still has the parking lot paranoid gremlins in his head...Boy I remember those days well. We ate like we parked. Scattered all over 4 different tables Fries, frosties, burgers and assorted others including a baked potatoe that Ted was devouring. I think he was still in a hurry by the way. And pulls in and parks next to the gang of Camaro's and takes a few pics. Pepper calls in that she just drove by at a high rate of speed and would be right back with Black Bueaty. Chris got the message wrong and was waiting for us to call him as we left Ted's but had quickly driven across Happy Jack Road and was waiting for us roadside. Pepper arrived, we cleaned up our mess. Shopped in the Truck stop for a minute and finally we were off. Led by our Wyoming hosts Andy and Pepper we were guided down to the exit for the Happy Jack Road. Happy Jack is a alternate to I 80 that heads from Cheyenne to Laramie. Two lanes for the most part. No Semi traffic and is much more scenic than the steril highway. Well I guess we made Andy nervous and he did not want to hold anyone up so he ran the tour at a pretty good clip. Very very nice road. Smooth and curved ample passing room and light traffic. Seemed much faster than I80 and the journey was over way faster than anyone wanted except Ted. Right as we got to Laramie my phone rang. It was Garth. He wanted us to check out his half shafts for vibration. Well finally I was able to position my car behind his and Ted and I strained to look under his car....Impossible I said to Ted. Garths car lowered and driving there was no way would could see anything. We checked his wheels for wobble but they looked good. I think the vibration he was feeling might have been the micky d's and wendy's he had eaten in the last hours. Pulled into the Laramie GM auto Center and parked pretty much like we did at the show. 7 Camaros right out front. As we entered the building service bay the first think we saw was Ted's car was not in the shop. One last chance to tease Ted. We all hollered for Brian to start work on it. Ted was grinning so big at this point knowing the posession he has been without for the last two months was finally done. A little small talk and it was time for business. Ted turned it over. Panty Dropper responded with a quick and effortless roar. By now Ted's face was swollen and red from grinning. I would have liked to see him on Christmas mornings..Oh on a side note. He started getting text messages from his GF warning him on his driving and to be careful. Finally she called him and gave him a verbal scolding. he reassured her that he would not be going over 15 mph the whole way home as he had to break in the new parts. Obviously she did not believe him as she immediately texted back again...."Thompson......I know you.....Be Careful!"
Yeah she does know him well. As he pulled around the lot suddenly we hear a roar and a complete spin burnout down the lot coming toward us. Figuring it was Garth we all turned around and to our amazement it was both Garth and Ted. And you all thought I was the little boy of the group....bahahahaha. Oh did I mention Wyoming was cold.....Laramie must be a sub group of coldness as it was so cold that many retreated to the safe and warmth of their cars. Another hour of talks....Scott learned about different mods. Customers came by and were looking at the cars. Everyone was having a pretty good but cold time. Hmmmmm time to eat again. After a half hours futher discussion and B'sing we finally decided to go to a mexican resteraunt on the outskirts of town. Parade style thru town down Grand Ave right after the Wyoming Cowboys football game let out was a blast. Scott was driving Dirty Harry to see if he liked the Edelbrock or not. Nadine who was right in front of us was driving like Nadine always drives and was roaring thru town and doing some full throttle off the lights like she was at bandimene moves that seemed to inspire Scott. He was getting on Harry pretty good. I had to remind him that I still had stock half shafts in at one point as he was obviously contemplating a power shift procedure. I mentioned it was cold out right. Well Scott wanted to hear the exhaust so he rolled the windows down so he could hear it echo off the buildings. Amazing how a short trip across town to a mexi resteraunt could be so fun. We all pulled in and of course had our usual parking delima. Ended up on the street for safety. More food and more talk. Exchange phone numbers for parts suppliers. Talk about past experiences. Even talked about Don. Ended up sending him a pick of the crew to share in the moment as he would have loved to have been there. Brian looked so relieved. Not sure if it was because he was finally done with this round of mods or because he did not have to wear a Bob the Builder costume later that night. What a great time and day we all had. And after reading this novel of a report you must realize this only represented half of the jorney...We had to all go home afterwards....Pretty much more of the same but a few more hyjinx along the way....a few rolling races (all within posted speed limits) were had. But fun none the less. As if we had not just spent the day together we were all exchanging phone calls between each other to talk. As winter approaches I will most certainly miss the drives but I will not miss my friends as we will continue to get together as often as we can. Live the Camaro Life...Live it hard and enjoy the holidays everyone. Larry

Mine was decent, gauge read 22-28 avg, but distance gauge only read 200 miles for tank full when before it usually read 300 or over per tank.

Almost came out to join you guys, but I just pulled the insurance on my car for the year. Larry, what brand of underdrive pulley do you have and is it still available?

I wish you had come..that would have been a blast. I think it is API but not sure. We ordered them in but were not even thinking about the SC pulley...Brian or Clint might know as they ordered it. I did bring it back down to Denver with me though. It also has the belts that are needed for it as well..

What great fun! Thanks everyone for waiting on me so I could participate. Was so jazzed I couldn't sleep all night! It's going to be a long winter that's for sure. Andy was a great escort over the summit and Garth and Cheri good leads on the way home. Hey Larry, if you're letting people test drive your car, put my name on that dance card! hahaha Good to see Ted smiling ear to ear again. Nice to hang with Scott and his daughter. Nadine's a riot as always and good to see Brian looking relaxed. What a trooper putting in all the hours on these cars! Nice that Chris brought his Dad along. The Camaro life should be shared with everyone! Derek added another "dark blue" SS to mix so when my favorite moment of the day came -- the young man running out of a store pointing, shouting, waiving and counting all the Camaro -- he had lots of colors to look at. Can't wait for CFest in the spring! After looking at the size of the margueritas that were being tossed down last night, I'm going to start training my liver now!!

I too had a great time. Sorry if I drove to fast for anyone, Happy Jack is my favorite road. How about a trip over 130 to Saratoga this spring (another windy road). Anyway congrats to TED. Have fun and fly safe.

Thanks Garth. A couple times I looked back and could only see Pepper, however I think you and Larry were just holding back so that when you got them rolling good you wouldn't drive up the back of the slower cars...I am glad i got to lead on a curvy road as we both know I can't keep up on the straight aways. and you are right there is no such thing as too fast.
