Yep, it will be taken care of. I'm going to replace all seals, gasket, new pinion nut, and drive shaft bolts to be 100% safe. The root cause of this one appears to be the pinion seal -- Since the Ring and Pinion were upgraded, I, myself, would have replaced it. I did these years ago, and our practice was to never reuse seals or gaskets. My understanding is today's seals and gaskets are much improved. Still, I prefer to replace them as a precaution. With the only exception of the oil pan gasket in these cars -- that would be a pain when doing a timing chain or cam ;o)

But the car ran great. I will be upgrading the cam to the specs you suggested. I'm confident that will correct the idle. Outside of that, this is an amazing kit. Just awesome. The experiment using the SS1 provided a ton of learning for me, and, the conclusion to go with the BTR Stage 1 Supercharger cam ..

Thanks!

-Don

I have some odd noise from my rear after the posi mod. I hear it over the exhaust. I guess I need to pull mine and check it also. I'm sure you had a nice sound after the fluid level got low. Notice any wear marks on the gears?

No, the gears and pinion looked fine. No noise thankfully. It didn't loose all the fluid, but it sprayed a lot. Believe me, Ive heard noisy differentials before ;o). Didn't hear anything. I'll know for sure once it's all back together and I've driven it again.

Thanks!

Well, Aaron Salisbury @ GPI has really stepped up to the plate. I'm going to be sending the differential to him directly. Aaron is a highly specialized tech and is also the Director @ GPI. He is personally going to go over everything and is working on a fantastic deal for me as compensation.

Just an awesome response from GPI. I'm crating this up and will be shipping it out...

It's all good, UPS is on the way to pick it up. You'll like how I 'boxed' it...

I sent Aaron the UPS info and pics of the 'box'

Thanks!

I'm wondering of the Z/28 Torsen diff is cheaper than the Eaton...

Does anyone know the p/n? All the ones I found were Mudstain parts but were about $550. If that's the case I can get the Torsen (from my parts guy) cheaper than an Eaton...

Very interesting. The bushings though really up the NVH. Since I'm not tracking all the time, I'll stick with stock. I've talked to several vendors and many suggest not to do it unless I'm going to be more hard core with the car.

Eaton or Z's. Need to see if it's worth me doing that. Thanks for the tip!

Well if you road course the helical type like the Eaton or the Torsen is the way to go. If you drag the factory one with the Janney mod is probably good enough but a clutch style posi might be best.

The Helical type is no slouch in a straight line either.

Thanks. Never knew about them. I'm looking into those. Really appreciate the heads up. May stick with stock only because I spent the funds on sc upgrade.
