I noticed while I had it on the lift that the drivers side axle seal on the rear end is leaking. Not a bad leak, but needs to be replaced. Ordered it today, and will be here by the weekend. I swear, it never ends...

I never liked the way the exhaust fit after the ZL1 diffuser install. My muffler shop did the best they could to line up the MBRP exhaust, but it hangs a little too low for me. So, the B&B Fusion exhaust is on the way. I'll be using the NPP in a Box kit to make the exhaust actuators work. I like the B&B over the stock ZL1 since the B&B is 3" pipe all the way through. Pics coming...

Thanks Ofer.

I'm putting the B&B ZL1 exhaust on in preparation for the ZL1 rear end I'll be installing someday. Trying to think ahead for once. I know the SS exhaust won't clear the ZL1 pumpkin. While I have the interior apart to install the NPP controller I'll fix a few other small issues. I'll be installing an ignition controlled line to the trunk area for the NPP exhaust controller and to power the Technostalgia taillights so no more battery drain problems. Also I have an idea to stop the shutdown thump on the JL Audio amps. If that works I'll post details on how I did it. Stay tuned!

The new B&B exhaust is here! Too bad it goes under the car. The workmanship on this is wonderful! It's on sale now and was priced very close to a stock ZL1 exhaust. I hope to get time to install it this week.

I figured while the exhaust is off, I'll put a new clutch in it too. I really hate the Fidanza twin that is in the car now. So, ordered the ZR1 clutch kit from Jeff at Lingenfelter and the remote clutch bleeder from Tick performance. It all should be here by the weekend.

That exhaust is "some kind of cool'. Can't wait to see it on your ABM!!!

It's time for an update! I have finally gotten some time lately to put in some wrench time on the Camaro. The ZR1 clutch is in and bled. I must say, reinstalling the transmission was no easy task, it was like a chinese puzzle to get everything lined up! A little more room in the transmission tunnel would have made things a lot easier. The B&B ZL1 exhaust is installed for the most part. I still have to tighten a few clamps and check the positioning of the pipes. It is VERY close to the rear swaybar mounts! I'm not sure if I am going to heat wrap the pipes where they are so close. I am using the NPP in a Box controller, but am adding a Lingenfelter RPM window switch to it. I was thinking open at start up and idle, then close at 1000 rpm and open again at anything over 3000 rpm. We'll see how it goes. It is nice to know I'll have the adjust-ability. As always, some pics.. old Fidanza clutch with the red lineup marks NOT lined up, The Lingenfelter flywheel and the ZR1 slave installed.

I've been really busy with work and a couple other projects. There were also some family issues to deal with. It feels good to be back working on the Camaro! Hopefully I'll not have anymore interruptions and will have it back on the road soon!

It is a ZR1 clutch. I got it from Jeff Myers at Lingenfelter.

I've managed to get a few more things done. The exhaust flaps seem to work as I intended. I added a relay inside the NPP control box and mounted the Lingenfelter RPM-003 window switch on top of it. Flaps open at start up and close after 1000 RPM. We'll see how it sounds on the road in a couple weeks. I have also stopped the annoying pop, pop THUMP from the aftermarket amps when you shut the car off. I built a box with three relays in it that break the lines to the speakers when the key is shut off. JL Audio said it wasn't necessary to load the lines, but I did it anyway. When the relays drop out, it connects the amplifier outputs to some load resistors I wired into the relay box. I'll probably start a detailed thread all about this sometime soon. I know a lot of people with aftermarket systems are looking for a solution for this. Also, since I wired the center channel speaker to work from the Metra interface, I still have all the chimes for key in and headlights on still working at all times. I also ran a wire to the trunk and connected it to a aux. fuse block so I could make all this work. It only has power when the ignition is on or turned to accessory. I wired the Rapid Fire taillights to this too, so no more battery drain from those. I may do a thread on this too.

Here's a shot of the trunk with all the modules in place. I had the aluminum piece in the junk pile, and it fit so I used it to mount everything. Fuse block is screwed to it while the other two are secured with velcro and tie wraps.
