That would be really nice, however I just can't see that in a Camaro. I feel that anything over 6 speed is a little bit of an overkill (although I have been in an 8 speed auto and it is niiiiiice ).

Yup. Mercedes quality today is nowhere near the quality the company was built on.

Come on German engineering has always been about overdoing everything with smaller more meticulous parts that fail. Just look at the stupid tanks they had during WW2, yeah they were technically advanced and all that but when they broke down they required servicing by highly trained professionals and used so much in the way of supplies and manufacturing they couldn't produce that many. On the other hand the American Sherman tank one on one wasn't a match for the tiger or tiger b, but it was simple to manufacture and even easier to repair. Every allied tank crew was able to repair their own tanks. That in a nutshell is German vs. American engineering.

AND the german engineers KNOW it...the FIRST thing Diemler Chrysler did was back the neon trany down from a 4sp od to a 3 spd od. serious ...for longevity.

I have to disagree with the both of you because gm is not honda that does that on their all of their letter series engines, there is only so many combos you can do so there is going to be repeats

there are an infinite number of combos to use, but i get your point.

but GM has been doing engine naming for years like the L71 was an L72 with three 2bbl carbs instead of a single 4 bbl

but normally, when I think L99, i think of a 265ci V-8 that went into Caprice's

thats one thing ill give manuals credit for..... push starting.... well, some manuals will, some wont let you push start due to the clutch not being fully engaged. :(

What do you mean by push starting? Do you mean literally pushing the car to get it to start?
