Weight comes into play big time. You also have to remember that the driver also adds weight. I'm pretty sure it would be a even match up, there will be no "walking" of any sort between the two. L99's are quick as all hell. Could the SRT8 beat it? probably. Few will win, few will lose. But I don't think by much.

I owned a 2012 ss auto L99 With kooks long tubes , borla atak cat back and a BBK cai with a custom dyno tune. Sold the cammy when i test drove my new 2015 challenger 6.4 hemi scat pack manual. The challenger STOCK will take my modded camaro off the line and walk away. This is not speculation. I owned both. My 392 pulls hard. Can't imagine what headers , cat back , CAI and tune will do to increase torque. This car is scary fast. I felt more in control of the cammy than the challenger. You have to be a very good driver if you want to get on the hemi.

A hemi will run high 12's with a non driver. My 300 srt-8 stock runs on a factory tire 12.40 at 114

The current 392 will walk both a l99 and ls3 (stock). Lets not fool ourselves

This guy took off on me with a Chrysler 300. Thought I heard a whine. I didn't get on it until he had a jump but I never gained... I have a 2012 2SS LS3. Faster reaction would of helped me much?
