Last Saturday me and buddy took the car to a track we havent been to yet, Centerville Dragway in Centerville AR. Really nice track, it's 1/8 mile & 1/5th mile. 1/5th is only for cars slower than 9 seconds so if you faster than that you are supposed to get out of it before the 5th mile.. not sure what happens if you push your luck with that lol.. Other than going off the end of the track.
Anyways, left in second gear for all the passes - First past was 6.16 @ 114 with a 1.44 60'. Pass 2 spun then hooked. 6.65 @ 114 Pass 3 launched good then spun just before the 60'. when it spun it kicked the car sideways a bit and got my attention. 6.38 @ 113 Pass 4 just blew the tires off. 6.92 @ 114 Still had a blast and happy with pass 1 & 3 even though it spun on 3. Progress and will continue to improve. Might just try 1/4 mile this coming weekend as Tulsa is having a Camaro night Friday night. will see.

I don't know about the math involved in figuring out if that is good runs or not. I've always been a 1/4 mile guy myself. Do you have any idea what you should be able to run in the 1/4?

Pic attached comparing time slip data from the best pass on SBE combo vs new combo. With the previous combo, best 1/4 was 10.25 @ 135.1, 1.51 60'. That pass had a 6.60 @ 104.86 in the 1/8th, launching in 1st gear. New combo launching in 2nd gear picked up: .07 in the 60' .25 in 330' .44 in 1/8th Also, Centerville has 1000' timing but I was getting out of it after the 1/8th as directed by the track crew. The time slip @1000' shows 7.9818 @ 110.70. Thats .60 faster than previous best 1000' under full power. All of that to say - it's should be mid 9's.

Totally awesome buddy! I was wondering if I should try leaving in second gear too because with all the torque from I'm guessing the vvt it just blow the tires off in first? But it should be better with these Goodyear Eagles instead of those BF Goodrich's.

I hope with some more time I can get the rear suspension dialed in and able to leave in 1st gear. Weather isn't cooperating this weekend so maybe next weekend.

Had planned to go to Centerville Dragwway on Saturday but the weather didnt cooperate and the race was cancelled. So decided to pull the nose off the car to swap out the Atco heat exchanger for a Prospeed heat exchanger since rain was in the forecast for the next 7 days.. After getting it apart and put the Prospeed in place to check fitment, cut new hoses etc., I noticed this spot on the radiator (along with the dead bugs.. lol) -
Sure enough its leaking - So ordered a new CSF aluminum radiator from Summit since they showed to have one in stock. I had noticed the temp had started creeping up some when driving but never noticed any leaks or smelled coolant. Will add some pics of that when it arrives.

The radiator arrived on Wednesday and here are a few pics out of the box. Leaving the protective cover on the fins till finished fitting it and the new heat exchanger. Factory radiator was right at 12lbs & the CSF is just under 14 so not that much of a difference.
The Tru-Cool 40K trans cooler bolts right up to the bottom like it was made for it.

New CSF radiator is in and fits perfect.
The only thing I ran into was the 12an fitting from the S/C coolant tank was in the way of the radiator hose. I could have probably made it work but wanted to get some clearance there. The an fitting needed to be either shorter or swap from a 45 degree to a 60 degree fitting. So I actually found a 60 degree fitting that was shorter and got that put on. Plenty of room now. Next up is assembling the Aerospace Pro Street brake kit from GPI. These brakes are ~40lbs lighter than the stock brakes. And look Killer! Caliper size comparison - Cleaning the bolts and hats/rotor assembly with acetone prior to assembling with red loctite. Test fitting checking clearances With wheel on Comparison with factory brakes I have some mounting tabs from Earls on the way to help hold the brake lines in place. Will update once thats done.
