I look at it this way, if GM keeps having this fest in April, then weather is a BIG BIG player in factoring where the fest should be held. Look at the weather currently going on... midwest is getting slammed with storms almost on a daily basis and killer tornados.... and then theres all the snow up by Chicagoland and then some! Mother Nature isnt being nice in April at all... my 2 cents.. but its something to think about.

with all the work the mods do to get this going im sure to make the venue work the date can be pushed.

my bust but still... seeing what mother nature is throwing around right now, picking a place seems daunting.. hub and I really wanted to go this year since we didnt really know about Valdosta last year until it was too late. But the navy calleth and this year was out too.... so its the BBOMG for us and hopefully we can finally attend next years fest.

Probably because in summer the race season is in full swing. I imagine it's much cheaper to rent out a track early and keep everyones cost down

Down in Florida, south of Tampa, you have Bradenton Motorsports Park, they have a drag strip and dual-oval track. They was called Desoto Speedway, in the late 1980's, then changed to Bradenton Motorsports Park. It is eastern Bradenton area. They would have to shut down their regular program roundy rouds to host.
