And I agree with you, just don't think Lowdown does, that's all I meant by my quote.

I'll admit I haven't paid that much attention to see what the 1LE really is...if it's just a box on an SS, or if it is its own model.

I suppose if they're going to be pricing it in the low 40s then it's still price comparable to the Boss even if it is still essentially a optioned up SS.

I'd love to be able to hop into a 500-550 N/A screamer for low 40s brand new if I ever sold my '13, but I don't see it happening.

Ooooooo.......That sounds even better then give the "z28" the ls7 and the n/a guys would sell their first born to buy them.

The 1le will have some nice suspension parts added but it still doesn't get the MR like the zl1 so it's basically just a "track pack" for an SS but like Bhobbs said hopefully there saving that for the "Z28".

The 1LE is a complete suspension change, new trans (TR6060 MM6) with cooler, forged wheels, spoiler and splitter, oil cooler and other stuff. It is a $3,500 upgrade to the 1SS/2SS.

The 1LE didn't get the MRC because it is a track car so road cruising comfort wasn't an issue. The Z28 probably wouldn't get it either for the same reason. At least, that's my opinion.

I knew it didn't have MRC, and wasn't sure if it was simply an option, or a new model.

Sounds like you're saying it's an option.

Can one order a base SS then, click the 1LE option and nothing else and have a 35,000ish competitor to the Boss 302?

Yeah, the 1LE is an option on the SS.

1SS + 1LE is around $37,050. It should be close to a BOSS 302 from the release saying it ran a sub 3 minute run at VIR.

Sweet

Does the 1LE have any heritage in the GM past?

I'm pretty sure it was on 3rd gens. I don't know about any others.

So, this talk about the 1LE. i know it is meant for the track, but i get the feeling it may be running with the ZL1 in the 1/4 mile with the new exhaust/transmission/gearing......

The numbers released show the 1LE running a 12.9 1/4 mile, same as the SS. I don't know if that's the actual times they feel it will run or if they just copied and pasted the SS numbers.

Yep kind of like the AMG "6.3L" actually being 6.208L.

And in 1970 the Chevy 396 was bored to 402 yet they still called it a 396.
