tint

The tint on the sides is actually 30% its just the balck interior makes it look like 15% or 5%
Gemini, The head light and tail lights were balcked out with a product sold from headlight armor. Gemini I bumped into a guy at valley view golf course that wants to get splash guards like you have so I directed him to your home page knowing that you had them installed and could direct him where to go to get them.
Thanks

MHB, I always use the "two bucket" method of washing my car and it has limited the swirls and micro scratches. One bucket for fresh soapy water, the other as a rinse bucket only. With a fresh microfiber wash mitt, I soak in the soapy water, apply to a rinsed surface in a back and forth motion (I don't wash in circles, but with the lines of the car) and then rinse the mitt with a hose and then in the rinse bucket. Repeat.

I also have grown used to using my water blade for drying, but I am rethinking this as I have noticed some micro scratches that I think came from its use. So, back to the "Absorber" drying cloth which I like very much. As long as you keep them clean, they do a great job.

Mequiars, "Scratch X" has taken off some micro scratches that I caused with good success.

Thanks, I'll try the 2 bucket system and alot of people have told me what your saying about if you have to touch the car always do it in one direction like your doing with the lines of the car and never back and forth. Have you seen those detail videos of the guys using a foam cannon for applying soap and then a leaf blower to dry it so they never touch the car. Not sure how well that cleans but it looks cool and I have been thinking about trying that.
Thanks for your input

MHB:

Your tint is likely darker than 30%. Some shops don't realize GM tint their windows at 70% at the factory. So if you apply 30% tint to a 70% window it's a lot darker than 30%.

In order for the door windows of the Camaro to be legal yo have to use 60% tint.

I have found some great tips by watching these videos. I don't use them all but some. Hope it helps.

Yes, I have read about the foam cannon. A little skeptical...

The leaf blower sounds like a good idea though. Might pick one up this summer....

Paulos will do a paint match for 120.00 a set...

Gem...just an FYI, but blacking out any lights is illegal and a reputable state inspection agent will not pass your car.

Gemini
I went stelth which is the darkest they have and it affects the lights at night in a huge way. It's been buggin me so I just ordered "light smoke" which is about 50% shaded to see what its like vs the dark "stelth" thats on it right now. Although I must say I do like the dark "stelth" on the front turn signals and thanks for the update on the splash guards and thanks gr8daneh on the 120 paint to match at paulos. I'll let that guy know next time I see him.

To avoid swirl marks use the two bucket method with grit guards. Dry with a "real" Chamois.

Also to minimize the need to dry, make sure and run fresh water at a low flow over the entire car to give it a "sheeting action" effect. If you clean your paint well enough the water will just run right off of it.

But black is a *****!.

I recently switched from Meguair's gold class to meguiar's new "Wash & Wax" car wash. I love it and it smells like pretty girls!

Thats the second almost mishap geeze.. Im breathing now thanks..
Glad you are OK GEM. One of the most important parts of driving, I guess we all know, is watching out for the other idiots on the road....
