05-09 Mustang GT + CAI-Tune + O/R X-Pipe + gears = 12.7 to 12.9
I will be sure to adjust my review mirrors to get a good look..lol

Hm, well has anyone compared the new 5.0 to the current Roush 427R? Specs are in the ballpark so it should give a pretty good idea of what's to come

Roush 427R:
* 435hp (near the 400 mark for the 5.0, but remember the LS3 was estimated at 400 and came out to 426)
* 0-60 in 4.7 seconds (matching the Camaro but only .2 better than the current 4.6 Mustang)
* Quarter = 13.1 seconds (only .4 better than the 4.6 Mustang)

So with those stats it really doesnt seem like much of an improvement, the areas id be most interested in would be the addition of the 6-speed transmission, adding a new IRS rear, and putting even more punch into the Track Pack...but then i start to think if you're going to do all of that then its going to change most aspects of the car, so why not make this a Boss 5.0? Leave the 2011 GT the same as the 2010 GT with minor touch ups (normal for yearly changes but keeping the live rear axle and 5-speed, bring the price down and market it as an affordable V8) then bring out the Boss 5.0 (or Mach 1 whichever) which comes standard with the 5.0 but adds the 6-speed, the IRS, and an extremely hefty Track Pack, i would say all those changes could justify an upper-tier model, any thoughts?

Keep in mind, the 427r has been known to put out much better times stock then magazine tested (similar to the camaro ss and the mustang gt). Otherwise, I agree with you 100 percent. I was really fond of keeping the 4.6 because it is tried true and has a huge following, but also have a larger faster model in between the gt500 and the gt. Kind of like how dodge does the r/t and the srt.

+1
I think MMFF got an auto 427r down to 12.4 or something near that bone stock. I'll have to find it.

the 427r runs MUCH better than 13.1 don't take internet time quotes too seriously, i hope you don't think adding more than 120 hp is going to result in only a .300 reduction in 1/4 time? lol

It also makes no sense on why people are still buying the mustang GT right now when it is overpriced for the 2010 model. Anyone with anyone sense would get the 2010 camaro. why pay more for less? If i were in the market for a mustang gt right now i'd wait for the new engine. just a thought. I am not biased to Ford, Chevy, Chrysler as I have had GT500, 01 Z06, jeep srt8, I like them all =)

yeah but what you fail to realize is that the 427r weighs 3700 pounds also. Don't regular GTs weigh 3500. thats 200 more pounds.

What do you mean "pay more for less"? The SS is more expensive than the GT, and are only become roughly equal if you have a GT premium or regular GT+ track pack vs a 1SS or GT Premium + track pack vs 2SS
