Lets not sugar coat this, the mustang 5.0 and the gearing will kill us. I'm really surprised the 2011 LS3 didnt get another 30HP.

Why is it when the Camaro beats the 2010 Mustang by 3-4 .10'ths it is a blow out, but when the Mustang beats the Camaro by 3-4 .10ths it is a drivers race? Dont start about the "B..b..but..the Camaro ran a 12.5 stock!!!!!111oneone".
Going by simple, hard data the Camaro ran 3-4 tenths faster than the 2010 Mustang, and 3-4 tenths slower than the 2011.

Stock for stock, with equal drivers, the SS will have a hard time keeping up and has no advantage beyond grip (maybe). Simple physics. Once you start modding, as others have said, all bets are off, and it becomes a money game.

I've sort of been lurking, and I drive the slowmaro, but I was kind of wondering the same thing that the OP and ViperTomcat just posted. Making excuses and blaming the ref seems pretty bush league.
