Have a 68 hardtop (in picture) and a 69 convertible. 68 was my first car, have had it 25 years now, just finished resto. 69 was bought about 15 yrs ago, restoration began shortly after purchase. lots of money and time invested.
To the one asking about restoring vs. buying a new one, depends on what you like. If you want something you will be able to get your money back out of, restore the antique. if you want something now, the new one is probably the way to go. You are likely to spend close to the same amount on either, depending on how much you can do yourself in resto. Also depends on funding. Restoration is difficult to borrow money for where a new car is a bit easier (depending on credit). you can always do your resto as you can afford parts/services, a little at a time like I did. |

I've owned my '69 for over 20 years now. Since I've owned it, it has had two frames, a couple rear-ends, a few trannys, 3 small blocks and it's had it current big-block (396 punched .060 over) since 1999

I have a 68 Camaro. Its my 1st car, got it when I was 15 and I still have it today which im 40 now. Still needs some TLC, its been in my garage pretty much its whole life ever since i moved out on my own. Im about to start putting money back into it. I also have a 2010 SS/RS with mods, getting bored of throwing money at it now and its time to move to the 68!

Here's my 68: Big block with coil on plug fuel injection setup. F2 gear driven procharger. Still street legal, but need to add bigger fuel cell and radiator to do much street driving.
