Availible option... like the catback exhaust and other performance upgrades we can get on the 5th gen? Factory installed or not, thats not stock. Its a performance upgrade option which is all about making it better than stock.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

So then the LS3 is not stock since it is a performance upgrade option over the base V6?? That's what the logic you just stated would imply. Clyde |

If they priced that right, I'd buy one!
The LSA motor is just SICK! |

Anything added on to the base model LT LS or SS to gain performance, it is not stock anymore. I really don't understand what your point is. SS is a base model so how would that not be stock?

Perhaps you don't understand what you said to begin with, you said any available performance option to upgrade performance was not stock (while not a quote that was the meaning), the SS LS3 is an available performance option over the base model, so by your logic the LS3 is not stock. Really, some of you people just don't get what you are trying to argue, the cross ram manifold on the first gen. Z/28 was a FACTORY OPTION when ordered from the factory and was therefore stock. If I can order different wheels from the factory on a fifth gen. they are stock, anything that can be ordered from the factory via their regular new car order system is a STOCK available option. No different than different versions of the SS396 engine on the first gen. Camaro or the three two barrel version of the early Pontiac GTO in place of the single four barrel.

The short throw shifter and cat-back exhaust are options. Like the cross ram. These things are not stock because you have to order them as OPTIONS which can be installed in the factory but are still a performance upgrade over the stock car.

After going to the same five stores for the last week, I finally got this issue. I'm compulsive, and will probably acquire every Camaro article there's going to be out there despite everything that gets posted here, but it wasn't bad speculation. Like it has been mentioned already, I hope it doesn't go the route of a limited edition because, surely, I won't be able to afford it, and that's certainly not been the traditional way Z28 has been (save for maybe the first generation; but not many people even knew about it, if I remember correctly). Anyhow, what speculation they have is certainly what I hoped the car could be; I just hope they don't crazy on the $$$.
