well - first of all - White is vinyl material - not canvas........so there would be substantial changes to the top mechanism for it to close tightly in warm weather - yet be able to be closed (period) in cold weather.

In 1999, we put the white top on hold for several months - because one had to practically do a 'chin-up' to get the top latches to close on the windshield header -

so you would spend a substantial amount of resources - both human and financial -- to sell how many tops? The reality is that if you were charged with making the call - you would not be able to justify........simple as that.

I understand what you are saying - as I said before - -I happen to LOVE white tops........but there's a REASON no one offers them anymore.

There is nothing stopping you from going to an upholstery shop and having one custom crafted if you so wish.........

Light weight connecting rods should really help this thing spin up real quick. i wouldnt be surprised to see this run 13.99 or so off the showrom floor.

Haha I'm not saying its the fastest thing on the road but for a NA V6 Ford & GM are making some pretty good hp cars in the Stangs & Camaros. If the Camaro weighed couple hundred pounds less it would pull off some impressive numbers

I like most of the new upgrades, with the exception of the steering wheel. BLEH. I see some retrofitting in the future... I LOVE that stitching too! On the engine however, I was hoping they weren't changing much so that I might be able to upgrade my own, but boy was I wrong. That's quite the laundry list of changes there. And I know 323hp is nothing to scoff at, not at all, but no change in torque output and all the money it would take just to upgrade the heads leads me back to just getting a CAI and being done with it. I can't believe there's no torque increase as well, that seems strange given all the work they did. I think the standard 304hp LLT would be amazing with a proper transmission bolted to it, not this Aisin pos. Bolt up the Tremec to my engine and I'll consider upgrading!

After today i've been hating myself for not owning a camaro yet. Depending on the price on the V6's this maybe my first car To be honest though. All I want is that new engine The badges are pretty sick too. I'm not digging the stripes. I want that thing gone... That engine is the sex though.

On the exterior for 2012, a new rear spoiler will be added as a standard feature for Camaro; and the taillamps that had been a part of the RS appearance package option are also being made standard. Additionally, a new, body-color “sharkfin” antenna joins the RS package.

The point is that we talk to all walks of life -- ESPECIALLY because we wanted this car to appeal to a wider audience.

The Nav. is a perfect example: a lot of the 'intenders' and other sport coupe owners felt that OnStar was a safer alternative. I won't get into an argument over that other than to say the last thing we need is people looking DOWN instead of watching the road.........

Something else to chew on: What makes you think we're 'done'? Perhaps we have lots of other tricks up our sleeve.

TRUST ME - this car has more research than any car I can think of - and that includes all other manufacturers.......

ultimately i think we just have to agree to disagree. I dont even want to get into any talks about onstar and what i really think of it. I dont see why anyone would need to look down for a nav screen though? And those 4pack gauges are way down and no one thought that was a bad idea?

i think there is a miscommunication going on and you and i really aren't fully understanding each others comments.

basicly when you said, we listen to our customers via the disciples, that statement bothered me. Its like saying, we listen to these guys here and they know whats best, and pretty much thats it (which i know isnt the truth). But thats the way it looked and thats the way i took it.

Im not questioning what it is you guys do and who you talk to etc, im simply saying those that are not car enthusiast, which are a lot who bought this car, arent on websites like this or going to car meets or doing focus groups or any of that, and are a lot harder to reach. And limiting or only caring about feedback from car enthusiast leaves out a huge segment and is kind of biased IMO to the kind of feedback you would get.
And to me it dont matter if you drive a mustang, challenger or a M3 these are all the same people, car enthusiast. Virtually everyone who ive ever given a ride in my car, the first thing they say (of course well after saying how awesome the car looks etc) is there isnt a nav in here, i thought for sure it would have one. Then i have to explain the whole onstar thing and how that works etc and when im done, they just say "oh" like a let down, which is exactly how i felt when i saw there wasn't one either. But its not a deal breaker for me, but is an issue i care about.

so to recap, im sure gm is doing everything they can to get feedback and opinions on all the cars they make. Just the way your comment was worded rubbed me the wrong way and came off kind of elitist as if you guys only needed to get feedback from the disciples. Which i know isnt the case, but just how it came off, too me at least.

But i really dont want to muddy this thread up more with all this, i haven't even said anything about the 45th AE at all and thats what people came to see anyway.

But im more than willing to continue our dialog in another thread or PM or whatever.

something i would like to see happen.. T-TOPS.. now i know people are going to go into "sealant" isues and leaks and such.. but it all depends on how the owner takes care of there car... and im sure a TSP will follow and a fix will be initialized if there is enogh issues out there.. hell my camaro is the 1st one in the nation to have its particilar problem..
