Long story short, I purchased this vehicle and traded in my vehicle - a 2006 Civicc - to get it. I figured out the RS thing on my own, but needed confirmation. I came here once my own suspicions peaked, called dealer, and he said 100% I can guarantee etc etc it is RS.

I didn't say it from the start because I didn't want the majority of responses being like, ,damn you got screwed!! Omg etc."

So there it is. Now. Any suggestions?
Well honesty goes both ways. Had I known this I would not have wasted my time.

I just talked to GM today.

Now I'm not pissed at a crooked dealer. I'm just pissed at you.

Some of us on this site try to help folks... folks like you make it hard to keep doing so.

My suggestion is learn from your mistakes and try to be honest to start with.

You have options but I'm done with this thread.

Wow. Didn't mean to ruin your whole year. As I stated, I felt I would receive better answers asking a simple question and leaving out as many details as possible. Not to mention, I was unaware at first what should and should NOT be stated on an open forum. But whatever.

Besides, how exactly did you waste your time? I'm confused. You called a GM about false advertising. How does whether I had the car or not affect the reason you were calling?

Well Chevy cust svc called and spoke to dealer two days ago. After they called me and said they would be forwarding it up to district. I missed their call yesterday, but they are due to call back today. I'll post when I hear back from them.

Thanks for keeping us posted, and hope you continue to do so. I personally don't care about the "back story" thats done and overwith, NOT A BIGGIE....the fact REMAINS that the dealer was either 1. OBLIVIOUS to what he had, or 2. was trying to "PULL THE WOOL OVER YOUR EYES"

if it was 1. He should make it right some how, if its 2. hopefully GM will take care of him AND make it right some how.

Well.. here is the latest and greatest. Just hung up with district specialist. He pretty much told me I'm beat. Devryn was pretty much spot on.

He said, can you prove the dealer promised you this? I said repeatedly that I have the handwritten deal sheet clearly stating it's a RS, as well as showroom listing. He said since the vehicle was there, I had chance to see it, etc I'm out of luck.

It still really doesn't make sense to me, considering mainly the written promise s. But whatever, it is what it is. Lesson learned, fully research before you buy a vehicle.

Now that my fourth point of contact has been thoroughly stretched, I can say this mess is over. I still have a great car in the best color in my opinion, so now I can focus on blowing some money into it.

As stated, thanks for the replies - most of them at least.

He, the fbodfather, is Scott Settlemire: the father of the F-bod. Here are some links:

http://history.gmheritagecenter.com/...ott_Settlemire

http://www.camarowiki.com/index.php?...re&redirect=no

His user name is "fbodfather," send him a PM and catch him up to speed on what is going on. I'm sure he will be able to help in some way.

Being a used car, I didn't see how GM would really help that much with this. If they had taken a brand-new car and rebadged it, that may be a different story. They certainly aren't going to alienate the dealership over a used car sale.

Like I said, any effort at all would have been constructing a case and seeing what it takes to file a small claims suit, if it had bugged you enough. If you are fine with just leaving this alone, that is certainly one way to approach this too. Maybe next year or two, put SS badges on it, try to replace the V6 engine cover with the V8, and go back to the dealership to trade it in for something else.

Ha, yea I was thinking about ths. But instead of SS, I figured I'd slap ZR1 emblems and stickers all over it and swear on everything it was legit.
