How much you want to bet that, just like dealer production guide numbers are based on mustang registrations, that our car deliveries are based on the same thing? I think that is why there's no pattern to car deliveries and that some folk's built cars are sitting in some lot somewhere - GM is building and shipping cars to areas with heavy mustang populations first.

There's a flaw in that theory. There are more Mustangs in my neck of the woods than any other place I've ever been in my life! And no new Camaros are even close to coming here.

Then why point out that delivery delays vary by region? It may seem a lot of 'stangs to you but do you know how many were registered in '09?

.... look at the railcar tracking thread... no Camaros are headed to the Southeast (except for a few to FL and Stephanies car)...

So wait time is a function of what region you are in.

Why? ... you got me there

I really was just trying to make a lighthearted joke, not making fun of your comment. Sorry for any offense!

IMO I think GM should give us early # not delivered cars a $1000 credit off the top.. At least it would show they cared enough about the crappy situation..

Yeah great low # camaro sitting in a lot somewhere... when others have seen 10 just the other day on the road.

you are already saving money since anyone who ordered before March 16 got the cheaper prices.

GM might be banking on us being so relieved that we finally get our Camaro that we forget how we were treated. I can guarantee GM that I and most others will not forget. Unless something changes, my GM brand loyalty will forever be changed (and not for the better). I (and I am sure most of the others) will do their part to see that other people know how longtime, loyal customers were treated by GM. I seriously doubt that at tis point in time they have so many customers they should not be worried. They want to survive. There are other good cars out there now and will be in the future! Just because I helped Camaro sales now does not mean future help for them so they (GM) can survive in the future.

Thats how I see it. Obviously GM's policy has upset some pre-orderers. But if it sells more cars to do it this way, then thats what they're going to do.

You couldn't be more right Hylton. Couldn't be more right. Like I said, I'm not ripping FBod (If I did in the past, I am truly sorry). He posts more info on here than he has to. Grateful for it nontheless. If Hylton is saying something, I think something is definitely wrong here.

Lets just face it....no program is going to be perfect...and the fast is that their are dealers (and people) out there that are just plain greedy, you know...like we've seen with wall street, some banks and ins. cos! I would like to think that in the long run there ARE dealers...and people in GM that really are trying to look out for us;(i.e. the little guy)! It seems, though, that this whole prcess has become so darn confusing that I wonder if anybody out there really does understand it and could explain it effectively.

I'm sure distribution is not up to Scott. It must be higher in the food chain. One less headache for him I'm sure.

"no sorry, I've got these pre order cars you can look at and sit in before I remove the plastic from the seats". Gotta have something in the dealerships to go along with the sold cars.

I know that doesn't help anyone waiting for their car, but GM has to sell a whole lot more, like 4 or 5 times more than the pre orders for the car to be a hit.
None of the pre-order folks disagree to having demo cars built so that people can do just as you say - touch them and drive them. That is a great marketing idea and GM should be doing that with evbery model they introduce.

i still think the best marketing GM could've done would've been to get the pre-orders to the customer 1st and foremost.

read the threads from the folks who have theirs already..............turning 50 or more heads with every drive!
