Actually, the GT500 comes fairly loaded as the base model, more like the 2SS than the one 1SS (+$3,200). Very few would pay 45-large for a car with cloth interior.......

Now i may be wrong on this so please correct me if I am, but isnt the gt500 a mustang that is modified by shelby? If so isnt it fair to compare it to the Camaros modified by other companies?

Hey man, had fun at the show yesterday. Glad you guys got home ok. I wouldn't even try to talk to the GT500 guys. I know its a nice car, but to everyone I have ever spoken with that owns one it is the God of all cars. Nothing can supposedly beat it and nothing will according to *most* Ford guys. I have seen them get beaten several times by lesser cars, but everytime I try to tell about it no one believes it. Like when I saw a stock 2005 GTO beat one at the track in the 1/4 by .2 secs. They should kill off this thread.

The GT500 is NOT modified by Shelby. It is built in Flatrock, MI on the exact same production line as all the other Mustangs and shipped directly to the dealers. SVT designed and engineered the car that became the GT500 well before Shelby's name was attached to the car.

Likewise man we had a great time. I totally agree it seems most gt500 owners have the exact same mentality. I give the car props, its a beast, but come on they do loose sometimes.

Chevys best against Fords best no more gt40
The GT is fast If the Z28 ever comes out it would be
equal to the GT but the Vette would do for now

Hmm, most GT500 owners will talk about any car freely. You seem to be having the hissy fit for someone 'mentioning' the GT500.
