I get most of the compliments at the gas station. Almost every time I'm at one someone is there and just says "nice car" lol being in southern Oklahoma makes it nice as well because not everyone has a Gen5, C7, Ferrari, lamborghini, etc.

I wouldn't put the 5th gen in the same category as those other cars lol

I'm not putting them in the same category. I'm saying we don't have those here so a Gen5 is something to stare at...

A bus full of kids and a yellow Camaro means you have to wave back and be polite. I tell my wife that all the time, you can't own a Camaro and be an a-hole.

We went to a small town in WI and heard comments and had lots of stares. We didn't see another Camaro all weekend.

In order to get stared at I would have to drive a Viper or an Italian exotic car...ie Lamborghini, Ferrari or something along those lines. Some classic cars will get looks too.

Or at least something more than a car that starts in the low 20's.

The rarity made them head turners the first few years. Then everyone became aware of them.

As I said earlier, a dime a dozen nowadays in my neck of the woods.

I love the looks and I still have kids yelling "Bumblebee"! There are people taking pictures and videos of the car, and families pointing when they're walking their dogs.

I'm imagining that there are not decent cars in most these places.

Every time I see this thread I shake my head.. People there's a camaro every 2 blocks and in every parking lot in America.. Who hasn't seen a camaro? Don't get me wrong I love my car but I don't feel like I'm brad Pitt when I drive it. Pretty sure it's your massive egos

I get cops, truckers, etc... beeping and giving me the thumbs up all the time. Kids yell "I want your car!" as I drive by and I'm in Ohio so it's not a southern thing. Maybe it's because of the 1le appearance and npp exhaust...I dunno but I never get tired of it.

Another thing that I am starting to wonder is how you would notice if someone really IS looking at you. When I am driving around, the last thing on my agenda is checking to see if someone is looking at me.

Could be a massive ego thing like you said or could be a matter of being starved for attention in life which leads to a constant "hey, who is looking at me in my car" type of thing.

I hear ohio has a pretty bad economy. Maybe this car screams luxury over there?
