No more Sonics as folks didn't sign up/go talk to Management about securing the lot on specific nights, so they are all taken up now.

There is something in the works for Friday nights coming in the next couple weeks but I'm not taking Lawrence's thunder on that one as he's been working hard to make that happen. Word should come this week on it.

Fastino's is still a go....people are going from what I've been told.

It's personally just too far for me and conflicts with the new work schedule to make it worth going.

But y'all should go if you can make it and live close!

There are a bunch of events on the calender and it's already turning into an awesome Summer with Ruidoso and Red River being as popular as it was!

Id even venture to say that the CCNM group has already pocketed a dozen awards if not more at the Car Shows!

Be great to see some folks come out this Saturday.....it's going to be perfect since it'll be in the afternoon and all. Great weather and I'm personally looking forward to hanging out and sitting under the tent with all my Brothers and Sisters!!

Let's get it on!!
Ivan

Bummer!! I hope we are able to do more meets on saturdays at least since sunday is a no go for most. The weekend is the only free time I get due to working nights.

I know...Saturday was a good time last year for those who actually came out and had the fun!

Christa had put it out to people that we were going to be gone and that if we wanted to do it again, that somebody needed to hustle to get that reservation.

I know there were a few of us wanting to get it done, but nobody called.

Lawrence's Friday Night Special is gonna be hot....better spot, way cleaner and a lot more traffic (visibility) for people to see what's up.

That's your cue LV....

Got to go hang with Curt today for a bit to take an up close and personal look at his 69.

I'm going to tell you all now, if you haven't seen it yet, you ain't seen ish!

His Camaro is bad. Pictures are nice and all but seeing it in person, driving down the road in it.....completely fierce. Felt wicked.

Big THANKS Curt for the time today.....man that was just insane.

Tom, expect a call soon.

Does anybody know a reputable shop to get some head porting done at? I am working on building a 396 LT1 stroker motor for my new Z28 and have found it a lot more expensive to buy new LT1 heads than performance SBC heads so I figured if theres a good reasonable shop around that I would let them port the heads instead of sending them off to advanced inductions.

If you're gonna mess with LT1s........hold on, deep breath.....yeah... AI is prolly as good a place as any.

I'd give you my $.02 though. If you're going to spend that kind of money, swap the LT1 for an LS1. You're going to spend about the same $$ to get less HP and you'll have a have a lot better time later finding parts and doing work on an LS than you will the LT. You can find a slew of LS truck motors for less than $600 left and right. They are out there.

I could go on, but I hurt for my friends in the past who have dumped loads of effort into their LT1s only to be dissatisfied at the end.

But if the LT1 is running great, and you wanna keep it real with the Purist thing, I get it too. We've always been "4 Headlight" fans and all the 4th Gens we've had have eventually ended up with some sort of LS in it in the end.

As will every other 4th Gen I end up buildin in the future.

AI, Golen, 510, or good old Lloyd and you won't be let down.

Keep us posted and good luck sir!

I agree with the whole LS swap idea, but I already have the short block, I built a couple of years ago and was going to swap in my other Z28. I just couldn't ever bring myself to swapping out the motor on a 40k mile car. I bought the new Z28 to do all the stuff I planned for the other Z .

That's a good route to go then for ya. If it's a known good motor with low miles, I get that and might would do that too.

AI is going to be your best bet....lotta good stuff coming out of there but be ready to fork out some $$.

In other news...great meeting last night. Wanna thank those who made it out and brought all that wicked awesome food. Man...almost upset that I had to run the meeting and wasn't able to eat more.

Who made the Brownies btw??? Ivan's Favorite FYI....

Make sure and remind me to give John Brooks some crap for sending up football players to ask for donations ....that was totally unplanned and he kinda sideswiped me on that one.

Scoreboard:
John-1
Ivan-0

Barring all the ridiculousness prior to the meeting, it went great. Nice to have some new faces and 5 new members this month.

Love seeing what you guys are doing.....lotta sick stuff going on and this is no longer a kindler, gentler Camaro Club.

Looking forward even more to Saturday now...
