Exactly, Whipple actually already has a kit they are working on to be ready in time for when the 5.0L starts showing up at dealerships. I can't wait to see a FRPP/Whipple 650hp (maybe even 700hp) kit for the Mustang that keeps the factory warranty.

Yea, good point! Everyone with a camaro will be running around with a blower and a 572 big block this summer.

The only reason I could afford a Camaro at my age (23) is because when I was in high school, I started saving money to buy a yellow Mustang with black stripes. Ford stopped making screaming yellow in 2006, and then I saw the Camaro concept...and...well...come on.

So even though the Camaro is my first choice, and I love and drive one, I still have a special place in my heart for the Mustang. All of the money I had started saving to buy a Mustang went to the Camaro!

Seeing a 412 HP Mustang is exciting. I'm glad Ford is beefing it up. Even though I will never get rid of my Camaro, and I hope to own a Corvette one day, if I ever have some insane amount of money to throw at cars, I'd love to own a Shelby GT 500.

So now you're going to compare a 3200lb coupe to a 3500lb convertible and wonder why one can get 20mpg regardless of how it is driven?

Yes, the LS series of motors are very efficient. I managed high 20's in my '06 GTO, but to suggest that there is going to be a big difference between a portly LS powered Camaro and the new Mustang is disingenuous.

This is a brand-new engine, not the dinosaur that is the 4.6. If GM could squeeze that kind of mileage out of the LS3, I'm sure Ford can do it in the 5.0.

14mpg? Damn, my 2006 GT gets 19mpg. Then again, the headers and cat could have made a huge difference.

Hey chill bro, I not looking for a fight. I love ford, chevy, and dodge. I wasn't running anybody down. I was merely asking if they thought the mpg would be any better on the new motor.

You know we have all these talks about Mustang vs. Camaro, but where does this leave the Challenger? Lol it's like everyone forgets about it in this new muscle car war.

But as it seems, the 2011 GT will be the better performer. (Given if it keeps it low weight and gearing. Plus it needs the tires, etc.)

Quite frankly, MPG has never been a determining factor for me when buying a performance car, so I couldn't care less about that aspect of the Challenger, Camaro or Mustang.

In the end, we'll all have to wait and see what next year brings for all of them.

This is great news, more competition with the Mustang most likely faster until Chevy ups the Camaro's power. So now it's got a great engine too, but like others have said, the Camaro looks WAY better.
