Does anyone know if around $200 to recharge the AC on a 1997 Grand Prix should about right? That is evacuating the system and recharging. Also there is one valve cover bolt striped and needs to be retreaded, and ballpark on that? This is a car my son is looking at, all upgraded mechanically.

Do a search of the forums and you'll find some other suggestions. I'm happy with the product I got from Adaptive Performance, just ticked about the hassle it took to get it.

A 1997 should be R134 so you can buy a refill kit from autozone for under $50. I don't know for sure about the valve cover bolt. I suggest looking else where and find one with everything working. You never know if that is the problem or not.

I see a Cyber Grey SS w/ Black Stripes on base at the gym three days a week. He has replaced his chevy symbols with SS symbols on the grill and trunklid. Does anyone know if he's been contacted about joining the Tucson Camaro Club? If nobody knows him, I'll place a card on his windshield.

Sean - how many of us are going to the Mt. Lemmon cruise - do you know? Also, we talked at the meeting about the Phoenix group meeting us at Cortaro/I-10 - was that set up?

My son is looking at a 1996 Camaro RS V6 $3,000, it's in great shape, any watch outs for those years?

Not Troy. He has a vanity plate. This guy has one of the new alpha plates.

The 700R4s and 4L60E's are only good for 200K miles or so. The 3.4s are weak. The 3.8s (98 and up I believe) are much stronger motors and will last much longer. Overall a good starter car though, and one he can learn to turn a wrench on when something breaks since parts are super cheap.

Oh, and Amanda and I will be attending the Mt. Lemmon cruise.
