Michelin PSSs
Well I splurged for Michelin PSS 285/35/20s and two new 20×10 tsw Nurbs for the front end. All wheels have a 35 offset so I can rotate the tires. With 1.2 degrees of front negative camber and Pedders Supercar coilovers, the front wheels and tires clear everything by a 1/4" or so.
I like the square setup and the tires handle great with the 10"wheels, but I need to stiffen the front sway bar as I have more oversteer now and limits rear coilover settings to less then the front or oversteer comes into play. |

Been awhile so thought I would post up the lastest rendition of the Camaro. Camaro names and fron t bowtie gone, 20x10.5 tws Bathurst wheels added. Car mostly used for auto crossing or as garage queen now that I retired.

Pics showing some old and new mods
Thought I would put up some old pics of mods done over the past few years. Painted rear light bezels, Forgestar 20x10.5s with MPSS 295/35/20 tires for the street, Bridgestone RE 71 305/30/19 tires for autocross . And most recent new Ridetech coilovers for better ride and handling over the old Pedders Supercars. Other things are custom stage 1 Kali street cam, valvetrain , oil pump, Rotofab Cai, new tune, bmr rear wheel hop package, Magnaflow 3” cat-back, all from JDP Motorsports.

More new parts added since February . First pic is my Fith gen autocross buds at an NMCA autocross event we all do four times a year. I installed DSE adjustable swaybars but no pics though. As they were totally worn out, new Hawk 5.0 brake pads, new stock rear rotors and Morris two pc front rotors. Great setup for street and autocross. Also car pics in race attire

A bit of refreshing for the 2019 season. I used satin black to refresh the heritage grill, ditched the stillen lower grill and painted the stock lower grill, now it looks much better . Also painted the beatup slp splitter, bezels ,diffuser and added the little polished tail light bezels and license plate frame. SS emblems added to fender and ditched the bow tie. Like the clean look. Also made vinyl panels for behind the gills to prevent a lot of the rock hits during autocross.

For fun I added the front lip blackout with same textured vinyl as on the gill guards. Did it to see if I like it or not. Looks pretty good and car looks a bit more aggressive. Will see if it stays or not.

Went on vacation to Utah in August and dropped car off at JDP Motorsports LLC. I wanted more low end acceleration for street and autocross. So in went a new 3.91 gear SS 1LE rear diff. That sure helped and the car is more fun and easier to drive, it’s smoother and stronger in each gear for sure. Add the 19” tires for race day gives about a 4:26/1 effective rear ratio. Man it gets moving! Only downsides is 200 rpm more in sixth gear on the freeway. On the 700 miles return trip at 75-80 mph, uphill and down , the mpg dropped by just 1 mpg so not bad!
Other recent mod was custom J pipes made to help with the slight drone and the low rpm boomy sound of the 3” piped magnaflow competition catback. All drone and boom sound is gone. Slightly less sound but is more clear. Much better. |
