Hi all,
Just got off the phone with the new car manager, Tony Rao, at Paddock Chevrolet. He confirmed that NOTHING HAS CHANGED in the status of any Camaro orders in their system. I would think, and he agreed (obviously) that since he has the 2nd largest allocation in the country, he'd be one of the first to see status changes in orders. So, IMO, that's the end of the "I got my 2nd letter so my order must have been pulled" discussion. Back to your regularly scheduled programming...

I have an Order Workbench printout with a valid Order#, the correct car, colors and options listed; my dealer has gone back into the system and made a change successfully; I've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and I'm wearing sunglasses....I'm good to go!

Kinda makes me wonder of there are just not enough genetically engineered IOM cows around at the moment to produce enough leather to fill the preorders. Or that's just the normal reason for delays in the Corvette order system, so their script calls for that answer to a customer's question even about Camaros. |

So I just called 1-800-222-1020 and spoke to a Daniel at GM Customer Service. I gave him my work bench number and it was greek to him. He said to check any status on my Camaro I would need to call the dealer. He cannot look up a work bench number. Then I pressed him about the letters. (I got the first letter but not the second letter) He said the second letter with the sketch was sent out at Random by a Third Party and GM had nothing to do with it! And that most likely the second letter was sent to "Family, Friends or people in the industry"...WTF!
This gets better by the minute. Is FBODFATHER still around? Somebody flip on the FBODFATER Signal so maybe he can get to the bottom of these letters and exactly who we can call to get answers...... |

We've waited how many years for a Camaro? People can't wait a few damn months for some pieces of paper? I'd love to have a sketch, and if I'm meant to get one from Chevy it will show up eventually. But I think this has gone WAY out of control and we all need to just keep patient. All the letter threads are getting old. If you have an order number...stop worrying so much!!! lol

I just got off the line with someone at that number too(1-800-222-1020) he was a little helpful, but I blame the cold medicine for not remembering his name..
He put me on hold for a few minutes and said he spoke with someone in the "vehicle ordering services department" and was able to verify my workbench number as being a valid order, but no other information was available at this time and that once the production date is announced (i'm thinking he meant the production date of my Camaro specifically) that my dealership would be able to give me an exact date. But when I asked about the sketches/welcome packets or whatever you want to call them at this point, he said that he had no information available on that other than what he had about the early order program in general on his computer at this time.. |

Got my two

To repeat to those that didn't read it the first time. It's not alphabetical.
My order number is NDNH1W - I ordered the 13th, but due to a system glitch that night, the order didn't get accepted until the Oct 16th (I have seen the workbench screen confirming this) - Status on the order is code 1100 - Order accepted (again had it checked today). I was and am the dealers first order and I have checked the dealer allocation (which was three). My last name is Ab____ and I have received nothing...nada. The correct address is in the system and no one has an answer to why I've gotten nada. It irks me, but not panicking, just rather irked. |

I got the first letter, but haven't received the second. To tell you the truth, I could care less. While it would be nice to have the sketch, I have my order number and that's all that counts.
For all those that are worried, once you have your Camaro, you're going to forget all about the letter(s) you didn't get. If you have an order number, there should be no reason why you wouldn't be good to go. |

ok i gave in
i finnaly called that number!! the reason i called was because 4 times i asked my dealer to send me my work bench papers to know is my order had been entered into the system properply along with the options i wanted--they read me the workbench papers an it seemed ok but i wasnt sure
so i called the number today -a sweet woman--gave her my order number--she asked for my dealers name and my salesmans name and that she would be back in 2 to 4 minutes. she came back after talking to my dealer saying they had tried several times to send me my worch bench order and that it was posssibly going to spam and that they would try again as far as my order she found it and said that it was accepted and in the system----but it hasnt been pulled for production yet ---which i already knew |

after being on the phone for over one hour with four different people giving me four different reasons why I may not have received a letter, I finally ended up getting one person to delve deeper into this mystery.
Like was said above, I WAS TOLD (finally) that GM contracted out with a third party to send the letters, and to eliminate any accusations of being biased the letters are being sent out to random people in no particular order. WTF!! They told me, I may or may not get one letter much less two letters (first and second letters). Calling fbodfather...calling fbodfather...this is no way to treat those who have placed pre-orders for the Camaro and kept the faith.
