I didn't order the carbon fiber but that's what they put on my car for free..so thanks GM. Just hope I like it. If not I will be looking to buy a black insert or swap with someone.

well i guess since we are the minority (black insert) chevrolet is not listening to us! oh well what can we do? we will just have to fork out the $2200 and get what we really wanted in the beginning! sounds fair to me, we pay $2200 and others pay $0

My dealer was notified back in Feb that my car was built and could see that it had exposed carbon fiber listed, even though we selected black. On gmconnects I pulled up my window sticker which listed the exposed carbon fiber insert as being on my vehicle and that there was a -$600 credit for the exposed carbon fiber hood insert. Some of us get it for free because GM accidentally put the wrong inserts on our cars. I think this was the hold up issue if not one of the issues.

Agreed! GM can get a lot of good will just by being fair on this one thing. I don't think they realize how much this can help or hurt the customers opinion of the company just by doing right by this one simple thing. I am a first time GM buyer and am interested to see how they treat this situation. A little good will goes a long way.

Also it appears that some of the latest cars to be built are the first to get shipped. Probably because of the older cars being stacked in the lot. In the end I am just wanting my car and will be happy to welcome it home. I am happy the QC hold is over

I was one of the folks who wanted an Exposed CF hood but had to drop it to get mine (#150) built. I still want B92, so I plan to order the part when I pay for the car (that way it is covered under the 3/36K warranty). I wish GM would offer me the part for $600, but the best they may do is sell it at wholesale (~$1,600) vs $2,200 retail. Meanwhile those that never wanted it get it for free! This is the only part of this buying experience I am not happy with. Unfortunately it's what I remember.

I had the same thing happen. The owner who ordered the car for me asked if it made me want to cancel and said it could be another six months if I did. I wanted the car. I am glad I stuck with it. Everyday you see people post about not being able to get a ZL1 so I still feel pretty lucky. It would be nice though if they did something to help with the cost of getting the exposed insert from the dealer.
