We're talking friendliness on the road, willingness to adapt to varying road conditions, forgiveness when approaching that 'limit'?

I can guarantee for a large population of people, that's the ultimate drivers car. And there is not one thing wrong with that.

But some others like the car that is mean, unforgiving, willing to beat you up, take your wallet, and leave you passed out on some railroad tracks.

Well, that was an exaggeration, this isn't the 60's..but you get what I mean.
Good one !

I think you people need to test drive both cars and not rely on magazine articles..And come up with your own conclusion.

90% of these buyers don't need to drive either car to know what they're buying.

Im a Mustang guy, so I bought the best Mustang. No tests or comparisons was/is going to change that.

I figure most ZL1 owners have been Camaro fans for some time, and likewise, won't buy a Mustang.

Only crazy people spend 55-65k on a pony car

I bought all three of my 5th Gens, sight unseen and no test drive before doing paper work. Sometimes I just do things on faith and hope all works out.

Bought the Boss sight unseen. I wanted an early one, and there were going to be no opportunities to test drive. It was a leap of faith as the 08 I last test drove lead me to buy another BMW. Now the Mustang has brought me back to domestics but the dealer experience hasn't cemented the deal next time around.

We bought our new Vert sight unseen also, so far we love it.

What about your dealer have you not been happy with?

Dealer greed with ADMs. Walked the deal into my local dealer before car was announced. Then when the dealer found out they wanted a 15k adm. Had to make a dozen calls to get a good price in car. Went shopping for a second again this year and same story. Also haven't been impressed with service departments.

Sure, it's possible to throw down a golden lap in the Mustang if you get everything right, but duplicating that time is never easy. And you'll be working far harder and more over the limit in the Shelby.

The Camaro ZL1 can turn consistent fast laps all day. It's infinitely more precise and capable, and genuinely rewarding in its engineering goodness. The fact that it was only about a half second off the Shelby's best time despite a huge power deficit speaks volumes.

The ZL1 has taken pony cars to a new level of handling and on-track composure that, frankly, we didn't think was possible. It makes the Camaro ZL1 the new definition of American Badassery. One that's really not bad at all.

If that is the course they ran, it favors big Hp. I ran it on a motorcycle and it is almost WOT from turn 6-9. A slight lift to help set into the turn but that's it.

"This thing is a wild ride. An edge-of-your-seat, check-the-life-insurance, remember-your-kids kind of ride that is unmatched in the pony car world."

Well crap, now I want the GT500 again.

Yeah not many tight turns and a couple gentle long sweepers and a long straightaway, like I said before a track like that would give the GT500 the edge.
