Thanks, I really wanted it to look more seemless, originally wanted to mount it on the other side, but this was the simplest way. Also. I had to put it on a cant, but it dumps right on the cooler. I figured it wouldn't hurt along with the minimal investment

How much of this info can be related to a 2012 V6? I'm on average sitting at 210 for my oil temp with my car and I want to eventually track my car some day. So im expecting the tempsame to really climb when that happens. But as far as I'm aware, the V6s have no oil cooler and no way to branch office to feed a oil cooler.

Speed Academy Z28 Video

In the Speed Academy video about the Mantella Motorsports Z28R the belly pan was removed, perhaps for display purposes. However, does anyone know if the car was run without the pan? Possibly improved cooling was more important than aerodynamics?

Also, some of the forum members here have used ducting or NACA ducts to move air to the stock cooler; are the any updates on how these approaches performed?

Thanks for any replies.

It never stops raining in Southern Illinois so I've not been able to track it on a really hot day.

So it was 90 degrees out at Putnam Park this last weekend. Oil was ~300F according to the gauge but never went into limp mode. Car ran strong. I neglected to check the coolant temp.

I believe the duct is working though because the temp starts to fall almost as soon as the cool down lap starts. Prior to this it barely wiggled off pegged oil temp on the cool down.

We have tried most everything and this is what we know works. The pictures are on a Z/28 that used to routinely go into limp mode. Since the install he has never seen limp or an oil temp over 240*

Here is an oil report that includes 2 track days. Pennzoil Euro L 5w-30 (Dexos2). Oil temps where consistently just over the 3rd tick on the gauge. Ambient was in the upper 80s. About 2000 miles on the oil before I changed for another track weekend.

If you find out, let me know. I've tracked my v6 and it gets real hot. Took a couple cool down laps every 5 mins or so. Was contimplating a standalone trans cooler to keep that and the coolant down, but no idea about oil.

To keep things a little cooler you really should try going with a 160* thermostat. Most don't understand that just because it's a 160* thermostat it's not going to make your Camaro run at 160*, the actual coolant temp will range from 178-187 depending on usage and the fan settings will need to be adjusted to come on sooner.

Can you elaborate the thermostat a bit more please? I dont understand the advantage of it over stock one unless it allows for more flow, which it doesnt look like it does.

I run a thermocouple right through my oil plug so its reading actual oil temps. I used to run 300-304F on hotter days around the 80F ambient range. I run 5w-50 oil and no problems with oil analysis. However, I put a 2014 hood vent on my car and at decent ambients (75-80 i dont recal exactly) the hotest my temps got was 277F. Thats a huge drop and I still cant believe it. I have never seen that low a reading. I dont have A/C and a condenser either and still ran in the 300s prior to the hood vent change.

Thermal manage.ent is huge with an all aluminum LS furnace under hood.

Just curiosity here - how much impact did the holes have in the front fascia to coolant/oil temps?

No idea as we have done them on all our shop installs.

For the guys running two row radiators and 160 degree thermostats, does engine temp run closer to 160 or do you still get 185ish?
