just install the Airaid intake and love it. It fits well and was easy to install. I can definitely tell a difference with the intake when I step on it

Without a tune there were reports of a Faint Bucking at light throttle, on a very small percentage of units sold, we also experienced the same with the test unit on the dyno during our drive cycle.

Over all the Unit had impressive results.

A simple tune corrects and eliminates any minor driveability concerns.

Thank you for Asking.

I notice a large difference in "Fuel Trim" on the spreadsheet. Being an old Carburetor (remember those) guy, I could use some schooling on what Fuel trim is and how to adjust/tune it. Anyone care to post a quick synopsis.

I installed a Volant Powercore a few days ago & love it; Took about 20 minutes to install. No hard numbers yet but I can tell a difference. Tomorrow, a new tune.

Our fuel trims are right in check with OEM.

If you have positive fuel trims you stand a chance when it goes into power enrichment that it will add that additional fuel...NOT GOOD!

If you have Heavy Negative fuel trims you stand a chance when it goes into power enrichment that it will have less fuel at wideopen throttle....NOT GOOD!

Also High or low fuel trims can cause codes and driveability issues as well as bad gas mileage....It is all relative.

Hope this helps

Andy

I would love to know what the "real" gains are for K&N Intake, I just installed the Typhoon kit on my car. While I do notice a big difference, I seriously doubt its 18hp! I would love it if Ted would do another test on the newer CAI's that have come out since the test!

Ted,
Our v6 system is almost complete. You still down with the V6 shootout?
If Jim is willing, would you be interested in doing a head to head test with CAI Inc. and Halltech system? Maybe Jim will help with half the bill!

I'm sure he is...I know he's looking for a Vararam car now.

Remember it ain't all in the total HP increase numbers. Find something that is going to last, has great service/warranty if you're concerned about it lasting the life of the car, and of course WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE! lmao

I'm big on looks too. If the New Era unit had been a smidge less to fit into my budget, I mighta gone that way. But I didn't do too bad.

Thanks again Ted!
