I believe the difference is how the pad is sitting in the caliper and not a difference of substance.

Nope. The Brembo calipers have a very good pad retention system. There is no way they'd allow the pads to move 1/8"+. Plus, look at the pictures of the ZL1, no problem there. Clearly GM fixed it. I would imagine the ZL1 caliper is a symmetric mount. That is more likely than moving to a new spindle.

From what I have been told, it is the same caliper as the CTS-V. I'll double check with some friends at Brembo and see what they have to say.

That would be awesome. It would be great if you could find out if the spindle is different as well.

The current summer issue of "Camaro Now" has a complete article on how to do the CTS-V brake swap for the Camaro SS

I could be wrong, but it appears to be a 14" rotor suitable for the two pot caliper and not the six pot caliper.

04-07 Cadillac CTS-V
2010+ Camaro Brembo

2006+ C6 Corvette Z06 14"

Bolt pattern is slightly different. Camaro is 5x120, Z06 is 5x120.7.

thanks for that, just did some quick research, and found people using the Z06 rotors, wasn't sure of the bolt pattern issue. but they are for 6 pot calipers.

what are the diameter differences? (never mind, found it.)

The bolt pattern is close enough to work. I am running the CTS-V rotors (5x120) on my Gen 3 Camaro hubs (5x120.65). I would imagine you could use a Z06 rotor on a Gen 5 hub, but whats the point? Might as well use the big V rotors.
