I'll let Jordan handle the install question, but as for the cats, they are a high flow catted connector that came with the system from Kooks. I believe it was this part (at a MUCH better price!):

http://www.kookscustomheaders.com/show.php?pid=889

3" in and 2.5" out for the connectors.

I don't think it threw any engine codes, so there wasn't a need to do a tune - unless Jordan was able to work out the kinks before I got there

PS I was driving around on Bangerter a bunch today with the windows down. I don't know if I'm going to be able to keep these headers on...

...it's really hard to drive with this giant boner all the time....

On the way back to Utah I did see about 6 more but over all not to many on the road and none were ever on the same side of the Hwy or road I was on.

My car stuck out and was noticed alot you would think no one ever saw them before. Even my Daughter said hasn't anyone seen Transformers around here... lol.. I had people waving, staring, taking pictures of her it was funny.

The ocean was wonderful and once I get settled in I will shrink and post some pictures.
Sounds like you all had some fun times while I was away that is great.

have a good day..

Gem.
Thats sweet, glad you had a fun safe time!
Did you let the people of Seaside know that I'll be there in a couple weeks?

It will eventually throw a code, I made it a little over a week, the check engine light came on today . I knew it was going to happen, just take it easy until I can get the CAI, then I will get it tuned.

Nah, it only films in 720p 30fps. Can't watch it in slow motion. No thanks!

3. Did you have to tune and if you did who tuned it?
1. They do install from the bottom. Up top you remove the engine cover, plug wires and oil dip stick. Then the factory converters come out along with the manifolds. It isn't to bad.
2. With the KOOKS system I use KOOKS cats and with ARH I use ARH cats. We have the KOOKS in stock along with the catted connection pipes.
3. All LT's will require minor tuning as the converters are further back and take longer to heat up, nothing major aside from the annoying CEL. We didn't have time to data log when we did the install but I wanted to give it some time. We use HP Tuners here and Trifecta is also another good option which Matt M. does locally. The DiabloSport Predator/Trinity can make minor adjustments and eliminate those codes.

If you have any questions please feel free to call, email or PM me anytime with questions!! The KOOKS installed easier than the ARH but they are both very nice systems.

Those are the converters we used!

We haven't seen any codes yet but there is a very good possibility with the KOOKS, I know for 100% fact that the ARH require custom tuning. The KOOKS can probably get by with a simple hand held tuner.

That is awesome!!!! At first I was thinking you were burning out more and worried about a ticket!! SSOOCH can help ya with that issue!!!

The ground clearance remains the same with both the KOOKS and ARH.

It is going to happen being the converters have moved back and they are higher flowing. That is one reason I like the Doug Thorley's with good highflow converters, no codes. You also don't pick up as much HP.

Kind regards,

Jordan Priestley

If the 7346SP is a sander then it wouldn't have the random orbital action of the 7424XP would it? It seems to me a sander operates at a constant speed (subject to a speed switch) and constant rotation. I thought the good thing about the 7424XP was because of its random (wobbling) rotation it wouldn't burn your paint. I've used an old Crafstman sander/grinder in the past, and got pretty good with it, but it could easily burn paint if I wasn't careful. I don't want to take any chances with the new Camaro, that's why I'm looking at a 7424XP.

Do you know from first-hand experience that the 7346SP operates exactly like the 7424XP? I appreciate your help. Thanks.

Yes, I have the 7346SP, just purchased it a month ago. It is a dual action unit (DA). You can compare the 2 of them on the product web site. The only difference is the SP comes with the sanding disc attachment as well as the buffing attachment. Works great, here is the comparison.

I did a little googling and answered my own question--I think. The 7346 does appear to have the same specs as the 7424XP, and they mention a random orbit, which I assume means the "wobble" I mentioned previously. It just seems odd to me that a sander would have that random feature, but I'm just getting back into the performance car obsession after many years away, so I've got a lot to learn and re-learn.
