For the lights on a switch. Connect the red wire from the light switch to a 12v power source. Easy one is the 12v outlet in the four gauge pack. Run then connect the black wire from the light strip to the switch. Then connect the switch to a ground. |

Yes you will be able to do both. It will turn on with the dome light. Then it will also turn on with the switch.

The gray wire is already part of the car. It is connected to the gray plug under the dash in the foot well. Its the wire that goes to the dome light switch.

Use a t tap to connect the red wire from the light strip to the gray wire. Reread my earlier post on how to wire it for the dome light and how to wire it for the switch

What size t-tap do you use on the grey wire?

I'm hearing red t-tap, because it appreared in a earlier post that he did not have a good connection, and he used a blue t-tap.

Are all "red" t-taps the same size, or do I need to look for a specific wire size and ensure it's red?

either or
Either a red or a blue should work.I could not find a blue in my small town so I purchased a red t-tap and it works just fine.Original footwell lights install /czar pioneer on here "Tony" used the red hope this helps.

No blue! That's too big. Red is correct.

Thanks for the instructions Tony. It took me a while to figure out (dont know jack about wiring or electric stuff) but i finally got it working.
I must say my back is a little sore, but the footwell lighting looks great! Thanks again, Nate
