I think its sad for big companies like scosche to release a product that is put together very cheaply and to charge over $350. If your buying a radio kit it should include everything for that price as onstar is part of the radio.

Then seeing some of the pics of how cheaply put together the sides of the kit are is horrible. not to mention what did they do only make like 100 kits avail? How about mass product. watch in another couple of months they will be revising something on it and the poor peps that bought the first ver will be screwed..
just my 2 cents

I love my scosche kit. No problems what so ever with it. I'm pretty happy right now

I agree about being a little on the cheap side.. Hearing the horror stories, I epoxy mine together.. Hopefully I wont have any problems.

The horror stories are only coming from guys with pioneer radios. If you don't have a pioneer radio your good to go. There is some glitch going on with the steering wheel controls with pioneer. Scosche said they are working on this problem. As far as how they are made? I don't think mine is cheaply made what so ever. I'm really impressed so far

I just had my Scosche installed by Al & Ed's Autosound with a Kenwood DNX6980 and I'm happy as a Twinkie at a fat farm. F#ck!n awesome! No problems with light appearing in cracks or anything else. The only thing that is slightly lame is the indicator sound (cheap, as others have mentioned) and I wish I could override the Scosche logo at startup - it's a bit much when combined with the Kenwood startup. But the paint is spot-on and it looks like it's meant to be there. VERY nice. Thanks Double-D Mods! Oh, and Kenwood let's you match the instrument lighting to the factory lighting! Perfectly!!

I am pretty happy with mine and I really like the way it looks. I had mine professionally installed by Audio Unlimited in Snellville since I wanted a backup camera and i am new to this. I would really hate to to break my new toy so soon or have someone run into me because I can't see them while backing up. A.U. recommended to go with the Metra sight unseen due to the quality of material they use. I chose Scosche because it looked like a more modern feel and I am happy with the decision. I did a Clarion NX500 since recommended and a good price. Not a bad head unit would like some little user preferences fixed like the background color, hold sirus last settings and remote setting.

P.S. Make sure camera does as wide of angle as possible. 120 is not enough. Switching to 170. Will update on view once done.

For every one information Scosche has the Scosche Camosm Onstar module available now. This is the module that allows Onstar to work with the dash kit. It costs $49.95 with shipping included.

I called the customer service number. I ordered one and I should have it Friday. I can see if it has the same model no.

Awesome, thanks. I called and ordered it as well. Crazy thing is they say it's been available for about 2 weeks now! If I had known that, I could have had it installed simultaneously! Aaargh! I told the salesperson the site doesn't even offer it. He said, "Yeah, we need to update the site." What a bummer.

So how does the onstar module work. If your installing the aftermarket nav system well u will have that wired for their own Bluetooth mic so how will we talk to onstar without the factory mic?
