Well that sucks...looks like its back to looking at the scosche kits :/ So there is no other way to use the browser/google maps unless thru the hotspot on my phone, or pay a monthly fee for the modem? Any idea what the monthly fee would be for approx?

I have a Verizon mifi I can take with me in the car. They're pretty cheap, but the data caps suck.

Only two people have installed this kit so far - I'm sure with time there will be a DIY on how to install it.

With the Scosche and after market radio you need the internet to use Google maps or web browser, there is no difference between those systems. In this radio you have preinstalled IGO Primo navigation with maps and no need internet for GPS purpose.

I was looking to go with the Pioneer Avic-z150bh - http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-AVICZ1...er+avic+z150bh

With this pioneer I can plug my phone in and play netflix, pandora etc...are you able to do that with yours? I like the look of this one much betetr than the scosche but just want to make sure I can use all of the features

For clarification, to use Netflix, Pandora etc... you need a data. This is video and audio streaming so is using wireless data of your phone plan. I am not using them so I can't confirm. This unit is Android and is different then the Pioneer one.

Ok, I have unlimited data on my phone so thats not a problem...but I cannot make my phone a 'wifi hotspot' and use it to go online with my laptop for example. Will this unit play pandora thru bluetooth without connecting to the wifi?

Thanks again for your help

It should do Pandora - because you'd be going through the App on the phone (or at least that's how it works with the MyLink and Pandora). But like the Google Maps, Live Weather, Traffic, eBay, etc. - you'd need data for those.

I don't know - maybe? I don't know if / how well Android plays nice with iPhones.

Basically I'd need a unit to fiddle with before being able to give a definite answer. Down side of only 2 people having installed it :/

I was looking forward to this but that might be a deal killer
Here is a company that is offering Wireless Connectvitiy, prices vary along with equipment. Unused data rolls to the next month, uses Sprints network if I remember that right.
