There is no doubt the American political system, the American judicial system, and all the other parts of the American system are not perfect. But until someone can show me something better, I am staying with America. I said it earlier that the biggest problem with the high oil prices are big oil, a couple of folk wanted to give me a little grief over that. Well check and see how much profit big oil is making, then prove to me that big oil is not the big problem.

Never will I trade her in! It’s my dream car and even though gas is almost $6.50 in so cal I still wouldn’t trade her in! I never let her get up to 1/2 half a tank plus I drive my wife’s 4 cylinder corolla eco saver which is a gas ⛽️ saver!

And another trying to rarltionalize what is happening. Sad that some of you cant use the part of you brain that is needed to think this through a bit

You are right, the gop refuses to raise taxes on big oil. You apparently did no research on the amount of profit big oil is making. Give that a try before you start casting blame elsewhere.

Agreed. the problems aren't the systems you mentioned, it is the people in them.

And so blind to this reality as to call their solution "Build Back Better"! Isaiah 9:10. We are rejecting the wake up call.

The 1789 Constitution was deliberate. Limit the power of government, make it feeble and ineffectual to keep it from tyranny. The inclination people have to become tyrants is innate in everyone, Nature at work. Those limits have been steadily eroded since 1789. If you are a law abiding citizen in 2022, you enable the corruption, validate the power of tyrants. That's the truth.

Staying on topic, he did vow to declare war on oil in his campaign speeches...his exact words!

Speaking of research Ace, I'm not sure how old you are but take a in depth look at our economy from 1976-1980. It very closely resembles our economy today. Then take a look at our economy from 1980-1988. When you get your facts together, please get back to us and tell us what changed.

Hint: "Reaganomics"—advocated tax reduction, economic deregulation, and reduction in government spending

You obviously feel passionately about your particular political position and it seems, a particular individual. I just state my positions and live according to facts and I vote for the person who best represents my most important interests - cars are frankly pretty low on that list, although I still am a car enthusiast - I just keep things in perspective. Yes, that often means I'm choosing between the lesser of the evils, but that's just how life goes.

Me? As I stated previously, I'm doing just fine and the cost of a gallon of gas really doesn't affect my life that adversely, mainly because I plan my life according to facts and reason, not by a particular political persuasion. For example, before I went out and bought a V8 Camaro, I weighed the cost of any future gas increases, otherwise I would have happily bought a V6, or even some other more fuel efficient fun car, especially since I expect my cars to last more than the typical presidential term.

The price of oil just dropped again and gas prices have stabilized as is always the case when these spikes happen. The stock market has also stabilized, once again, as has always been the case - it's called capitalism. Like someone mentioned above, until you can show me a better system than what we have, I'll deal with the one we have, warts and all.
