I had mine programmed this week at the dealer. I bought the switches and harness and did that part myself. Then took to the dealer to ahve it programmed. Total labor was $131 including the subscription. Not bad at all IMO and it works great.

I got the parts a few weeks ago but was charged about double the prices listed in this thread. I bought them from a chevy dealer and had delivered to the ford dealer i work in. I thought i was getting a discount. seems they raped me.

am I definately going to have to bring it into a chevy dealer to program the bcm for this to work? Is there any way around that? Thanks

I got the parts if anyone is interested. I did this mod back in May/June but I've since added the leather wheel which came with the radio control. I now have a urethan wheel with the control and harness sitting in the garage. I'll sell it for cost plus the ship which shouldn't be much.
Shoot me an email since I don't get auto updates on this forum for some reason.

I've been wanting to add this to my 1LT since I got it. By the looks of it I may have to get someone to do it for me. Anyone near the Port saint lucie, Fl area wlling to help me out?? I'll order the parts, I just need someone to help me install it.

It's really not that difficult Jaime. Have some faith in yourself. If you follow this DIY you shouldn't have any problems.

Well I'm 19 and I've never done any work on a car nor do I know much about them...this is my first car ever and with it I plan to learn a lot......yea by the pics it looks easy to install ima be ordering the parts soon and hopefully I can do it without messing anything up....Once installed it must be programmed in order to work right?

Correct, the dealer will have to activate it before it will work.

Get a price for the programming in writing beforehand. You shouldn't pay more than $150 for this. I paid $145 for both the steering wheel controls and PDIM. :The steering wheel controls they have to reprogram the BCM(takes maybe 45 minutes($100/hr labor) and they usually have a $50 charge for accessing GM's site for the download) and with the PDIM they have to update your radio(takes like 5 minutes).
