Videos?? Guess I'll need someone with a video camera! What do you want, a fly-by? Launch? In the cabin?

Here's the dyno, that's all I've got for now. Maybe next week when I get back down for my follow up appointment. (really minor mods this time....but really cool ones)

July 8th update

Today was a good day...

Kris and I mounted the drivers door:

I couldn't stop there so I called Drew over and we rough mounted the quater panel, rain rail and wing window. Need to do some gap adjusting, mount the inner fenders on the rear and get the welder set up to tack it in. Then we will move to the other side.

The gaps look really good. A little tweaking and we can tack it in!

Like watching a birth. Without the goo and disgusting parts.

I had my Borla ATAK and ADM intake installed yesterday at IPS. Car sounds like a completely different animal. They also turned off AFM so no more drone!

I'll be stopping by to meet the guys at New Era when I'm in Rochester during the last week of July.
Hi DE, The guys at New Era are great! Darin has really enjoyed working with them. The car is running awesome. Hopefully they can answer any questions you have when you stop by.

Darin video taped the ENTIRE process and took hundreds of pics. He set up our video camera on a tripod and taped until the memory got full then he downloaded it to his computer and started the process over from there. So there will be tons of video to watch. I'm just not sure how he's going to post it (probably not on YouTube because of their restrictions). Maybe on his website? He ended up getting a migraine while he was there, which was my biggest fear. But it wasn't so bad that he couldn't work on the car. Lyrica is a miracle drug! Before it, he would have been in bed the entire time.

Oh, our car was down on power considerably due to a problem with one of our rocker arms that had to be replaced. We noticed for about 2 months now that there was a ticking and the engine was sluggish. It wasn't performing like it used to. I'm hoping he posts about it. He explained it in detail to me but that engine talk goes right over my head.

Today is drive and tune day til around noon. I looked at the radar and rain is coming their way and he'll probably drive through it all the way home this afternoon into the night. Our car is going to be a big FAT MESS from the bugs and rain by the time he get's home. Argghhh! It's going to take me a whole day to wash and detail it.

couple hours here... couple hours there.

Inner fenders this weekend hopefully. Once those are in, it will be welding time to get everything tacked in. Then we go and repeat on the other side which requires a lot of cutting first. The original quater is still on the other side... well whats left of it!

I always accept help if you anyone wants to come over and play...

OMG! We have a BEAST for a car now. Darin got home about 1:30 a.m. last night. I had him call me when he got close to home so I could be outside to hear our car when he drove by our town home before putting her to bed in our garage. All I can say is WOW. He still has to do some tuning on it. He didn't get the chance to get it completely tuned in NY because of the thunderstorms that came in.

Here is the link to a walk around video of our car with the cam and ported heads:
.

Oh and when Darin said "It would probably turn off by itself" in the video, he wasn't talking about the car..lol.

We woke up first thing this morning and headed to the car wash. He drove it through rain and it was completely bug coated. She's nice and shiny now.

A funny story: we went out to eat at Bob Evans after washing the car and while we were getting the girls out of the back, the manager came out to greet us. My first thought was oh crap, the car is too loud. She said "Pop the hood!" She loved our car and said it sounded beautiful. Turns out she has a Camaro from each generation and she's planning on getting a 2011 next year. Her husband is a Procharger dealer and has a shop in Kettering. Then we headed to Krogers where EVERYONE stopped in their tracks when we entered the parking lot. I won't lie, I was a bit embarrassed because it's so loud! I love it though

I'd love to know how it drives.

Thanks for posting that video. Wow wow wow!

I wondered if you'd mind sending me a pm so I know what it cost to have the work done? I know you did more than a cam, but I have no clue what this kind of work costs.
Thanks! Darin will be pm'ing you regarding costs in the near future. He's still recouping from his drive. However, even with his back and butt hurting the way it is, the Camaro seats were amazing! He had no pain driving whatsoever. Whoever designed them did a great job.

We did have a little more done than just the cam. He can explain it to you with how much we paid. It drives great on the highway. It's surging a little when driven under 50 mph and when coming to a stop. Darin said he can tune it to where it doesn't surge (moves forward without gas) as badly. I'm having to put it in neutral when approaching a stop light so it quits bucking. It really feels like I'm driving a race car. Our cam is a very aggressive cam. As you know, there are many different types of cams. You may not want what we have. Darin had to rebuild the rocker arms so they would withstand the stress. I'm sure he let you drive it or take you for a ride so you can decide if it's what you are looking for. We are going to try and make it to K-Mart Friday or where ever everyone will be. We'll see what the weather holds.

Did anyone else make it to the GoodGuys show in Columbus this weekend? Only 6000 car and trucks to look at! We like to go 161 and Bush Blvd and watch them drive by in the evening.

It is crazy loud! We went through McDonald's last night and had to shut it off to order I'm not sure if we are going to keep our exhaust system. I am not liking the way it sounds when it's being driven. It's too raspy for me. I like a deeper tone. We are thinking about getting Borla. I'll take some videos of him driving it around.

It dynoed before cam at 350 rwhp. Darin said one of the rocker arms was cracked and loose. After cam and heads, 450 rwhp. I don't have the exact numbers. It was 102 degrees in the shop. Very hot and not ideal dynoing conditions. He thinks it could have made 460. Darin has tons of pics/videos/dyno sheets he will eventually post. He is currently out tuning the car. He's made great headway in calming it down thank goodness, because there was no way I could drive it the way it was.

I just LOVE that sound and a bit of added HP is cool too. I've made that drive many times. It's just long enough to make me a bit stiff. Thanks for sharing all this cool information.
No problem.
