Not sure how they are going to deal with the mic. My Clarion has a built in mic and so I am not usig the factory mic. Maybe the Scosche will use the factory mic and it's built in speaker for the onstar. Getting my cable and installing it this weekend.

Has anyone tried removing or just cutting the wire to the speaker in the kit? Do you really need it for anything?
I'm about to order one of these kits and that seems to be the one thing no one likes.

It's inside the housing, so would require you to cut into it somehow I think. That would also mean you lose the backup sensors. That said, putting a piece of duct tape over the grill in there basically reduced the level of the offending tones for me and made it about half as loud. Try that first to see how it sounds to you.

Thanks for the info. I'll try that when I get the kit.
If it's still irritating, I'm cutting something.
I've got a 2010 so no backup sensors for me anyway

Got the Onstar Cable hooked up and now onstar plays over the speakers. Nice to hear them again. Still have the turn signal issue. Will call Scosche to complain.

Does the steering wheel controls work, or do you need another module or something?

I believe the steering controls that does not are just for the owners of the Pioneer AVIC- Z130bt navigation radios. That all that have been reported here.

The Steering wheel controls work as well as the after market radio will allow. I have a Clarion NX500 and not as impressed with the remote capability. The Sirius channel switch is some dumb ass genre switching, even if you are in presets. There is no setting adjustment. Also, input switch works ok, but getting a little delay and wouldn't be surprised if that is normal for the Clarion switching.

Backup Camera at 170 degrees doesn't show as much as I was hoping. Still don't see till up and down the isle for on coming cars.

Still need to get the turn signal noise fixed or stop using it while on the phone since the mic is in the radio and the listener gets blasted by the noise.

Thanks,
Ben

Has anyone that actually installed the Scosche GM5201B in their Camaro have any idea where the wire that is located near the big connector that plugs into the Camaro's harness know what its for? I thought it was unplugged from the connectors or something?

The blue/white wire? Its the amp turn on lead, no idea why its up near the 44 pin harness. I pulled it down to the radio bundle and soldered it up to the amp lead from the radio harness. Works fine.
