Here in Florida we are approaching the hated luv bug month. For those that don`t know it`s a small bug with another one connected to it at
it`a abdomen looking like two bugs mating or maybe just the mother carrying her offspring anyway they can destroy the front of your car if left on there more than 24 hours so washing the car can be a daily job even if it rains. So the question is that i`ve heard that you can use dryer sheets to remove them. I have tried it and it works amazingly good but not sure if its safe on the paint can anyone elaborate. |

What is better for winter protection, a good wax or a sealer like Menzerna?
Also, are sealers compatible with Xpel film? My mid point forward is Xpel covered and the gill area.

a good wheel cleaner like Sonax Full Effect Wheel Cleaner would work, then a wax or sealant to keep them protected, I have found darker wheels much harder to keep clean. you may have to double check them with a detail spray after you are done.
They seem to always be harder to catch when they are wet. Sonax Full Effect Wheel Cleaner Wheel Woolies Auto Finesse Mint Rims Adam's Detail Spray |

I have a Victory Red 2012 2SS.
I have some very fine swirl marks, I have always in the past done everything by hand. In a small 2x2 section I used Ultimate Compound with a terry cloth applicator (by hand) and was able to remove about 1/2 of them. I recently bought a griots garage 6" DA. I have tested the paint with a thin sandwich baggie and only the hood needs a clay bar. My plan was wash and dry, Ultimate compound, rinse and dry, polish with #7 MG, and finish with #26 MG liquid. Being that I'm new to the DA, (I have watched several video's on how to use it), I'm still unsure which pads I will need for each step. I wouldn't think I would need an aggressive pad for the compound, as 1/2 came off by hand in about 5 mins. None of the swirls are deep enough where you can feel them with your fingernail, and they are only visible in direct sunlight. I plan on only doing a section at a time from the top down, as I realize I cannot do this in 1 day. What pads would you recommend? |
