For me the zl1 is near 63,000 after ggt, auto, registration and tax. Lot's of other cars can be purchased for that, or you could mod the crap out of a 2ss/rs. (yes I know there is no mr and no warranty etc) This is one badass car, of that there is no doubt. And if you live and breathe Camaro, then this is the one for you. There are just a lot of other cars available in this price range. If I lived down south and didn't have to contend with 100 plus inches of snow a year, I would have ordered one already. Lot of money for people up here to spend on a 6 month toy. I hope they sell good though, so i may snap one up next year! LOL. |

I don't care how much horsepower other cars may have. I'm a camaro fan 4 life because I love CAMAROS...not because I love having the most HORSEPOWER on the road. GM said that they were building an outstanding camaro for a price that was the best bang for the buck. No one seems to realize that you can't get the ZL1 performance from the factory for this price with any other car. If you can't afford it or don't want it..cool..go get what you fancy but don't downplay the camaro because some of us don't want to drive a FORD OR BENZ or whatever (even though we can afford them)..no matter how many ponies they have. |

Who will be the 1st to get one at INVOICE!
and what's with the bogus "ROLLING START"? Who runs 1/4miles with a rolling start? I have never seen a new car's 1/4 mile times given with a rolling start. WHO will be the 1st to run a 1/4 mile from a STANDING START? |

I'll reserve judgement on that until pricing and performance numbers are released for the pony.

2012 model is in at $48,810 base. They aren't going to raise the price more than a couple thousand. So let's say it's $51,500. You do the math.

That's been the trend on Camaro vs Mustang prices in the past, and I see no reason it won't continue. Remember the current Mustang has been out since 2005, so tooling costs are already recouped, making the car cheaper to produce each year. And then there's the gg advantage. We'll find out soon enough.[/QUOTE] You may be right about the pricing we'll see. One argument for Ford to price aggressively is to stop the pony car bleeding is for Ford bring back or earn new customers by being king of the HP war? They were surpassed by GM with the Camaro and the pony car market is huge and could be the difference in a Mfg bottom line. I don't know what strategy or car or vehicle they use to take back share but it just may be the GT500? For sure it is going to be very interesting to watch and/or be a part of... |

I love the ZL1, but the GT500 is no joke.

Figures officially came in as predicted. Nice specs for $55K. Surprised the automatic stats kicked the manual's butt. Hmmm???
