I do believe this was the first time they were pinned down being shot at. Seemed realistic to me. With the exception of Rick, by default his character should had done better. But then again he was just in Loriville!

I was thinking about something while watching the old shows. Anyone notice the Zombies have gotten dumber, slower and are unable to locate fresh meat as well as they used to? in the first episodes, they were trying door knobs, opening doors instead of bashing, in the one where rick met the group in the shopping mall, one of the zombies even used a rock to break the windows. Also they were full sprinting at people in the beginning, remember that's why he had to leave carol's daughter in the woods, to lead the zombie off her trail? they all walk real slow now, he coulda just picked her up and walked back to the group now. heck they are so slow he was bashing them in the head with his pistol last night. Plus before, anyone within 100 yards they would of headed for like an arrow, yet when the Doc was in the field they sorta just kinda wondered around. Not trying to pick at the show, just wondering if its a subtle sign of them deteriorating...the governor and the Whiz ( forget his name) commented that it looked like the two pack mule zombies appeared to be starving..... |

And when you consider that a rifle is a much easier platform to stabilize and be more accurate with at much further distances, I just thought it seemed a bit absurd that they couldn't hit anything. Not to mention I'm none too happy that Rick's group didn't have anyone posted in that guard tower to keep watch in the first place Quote:
I mean, from a purely biological standpoint, if the zombies aren't eating for nutritional intake (since they have no pulse) then the bodies will decompose at a similar rate to any other dead body... Though, I do think that at one point it has been stated (either in the show, or by one of the producers) that theoretically, zombies would decompose at a slightly slower rate than a normal corpse...but they're still decomposing...

Yet he can do snap shots against zombies at various ranges including close range with rifle (more difficult with scope mounted) and medium to far range with revolver ... and almost all of them are single shot to the forehead? The show is reasonably entertaining (which is why I like it), but is far from a "great" show due to a LOT of silliness like this. |

I just think it's funny that Rick looked clean and composed when he first met up with ghost Lori.
Then when he walks out of the woods, his hair's messy, he's sweaty, kind of out of breath. Exactly what was he and ghost Lori up to?

Milton said it, he's the geek in Woodburry that was experimenting on zombies. If I remember correctly he stated the dead are decomposing a lot slower than before. |

I'm not reading any of this thread because I have 3 episodes to watch until I'm caught up... but I love this show... I've watched every episode basically in 3 days!

That's what I thought. I couldn't remember if I heard it from Milton, Dr. Jenner (the CDC guy in Season 1), or if it was discussed on the Talking Dead TV show hosted by Chris Hardwick.

Kenny Powers, Batman, and Doug Stanhope.
I already know I'm surviving, cause Kenny Powers has an arm like a f#($ing cannon.

Very unimpressed with this episode tonight...hopefully they got that one suck-y episode out of the way for the rest of the season.
