They already have the track pack available for the GT which i'm pretty sure handles better than a Camaro. Plus it'll be available on the new V6's as well, as an option, still with a live axle lol.

There are nearly 20,000 members on this forum.
And I'd bet you could use your fingers to count the members who could get 12.6 out of a stock camaro. |

I'm still not buying the 12.6 second run. While not as much of a regular as I once was I still spend a fair share of time down at the strip, and I've never seen anybody run faster than the 12.8-12.9 second range in a stock SS, and as far as I know neither have any of the guys I hang around with and several of them are serious GM diehards. (I'll double check) If the 12.6 gets backed up at the Fest and said run passes the sniff test I'll buy it, and that well may happen, but until then I'll remain a skeptic.

As far as I know there is a slip, my question is just how stock this particular car was. I've been down that road before, and I know for a fact that some of the runs that get bantered around the net as legit for certain cars were not because I know the particulars of some of those situations and not everything was as kosher as presented. Am I saying that everybody is a liar or should be treated as such? Of course not, but skepticism is a healthy habit in my experience. I've not seen enough with regard to this guy or his run for me to trust it as truly legit yet.

handling - its hard to find now but a stock mustang without its crutch(trackpack) musters up a high .8+ g's while the camaro breaks .9's. trunk space - although the opening is smaller I think the trunk itself is bigger.

"Yea well this car runs a 12.5!" "Well this car once ran a 12.4!!!" Always makes me think of some sports fan arguing with a martian. "Yea well Usain Bolt ran a 9.6 in the 100 meter, so that's how fast humans are!!" lol.... Maybe I'm on my own with that last one but hopefully someone follows me. |

Is a Human capable? Yes. Can the average human run? Yes. Can the average human run 9.6? No. Best analogy to what I was saying. What does the average or majority do? Not what it can do? And if someone throws in a slow example thats like throwing in a Usain Bolt. Just from one extreme to another. I guess I strive for modest and common examples. I dont like hearing extremes for examples what a car WILL do. That going to lead the average joe to disappointment and delusion.
