Got the driver's side done, now working on the passenger's side. I have a question, I'm T-taping the positive passengers side cable to the driver's side positive cable, but can I T-tap the negative passengers side to the grounded negative drivers side? Or should I just ground it to the passenger's side ground bolt? Thanks!

I need help, the set of lighting strips that I got have clear wires coming from the LEDs. How do I tell what is positive or negative? I got them from AAC if that helps

One should have a stripe in it, it's probably pretty thin, I know mine are. Sometimes it's a string in the shielding, but that is the negative wire. You may have to twist it in your fingers to find it.

Test them.. you can use a little 9v battery to test it then mark which is positive and negative

Done mine this week-end! Looks great!! Bought mine at Walmart for 20$ cdn... 2 X 12 inches stripes of blue led. I used the passenger side purple and black wire. Instead of hooking my t-taps way under the dash, I followed the purple wire down which is going through a bigger bundle of wire that pass along the door. I removed the electrical tape that was holding everything together and once I figured out wich wire to use (just find the exact color matching purple wire that is on the first bunch of wire way under the dash), it was a breeze to hook up the t-taps. LED goes on when I open the door and when i'm driving. The dimmer for the ambient light works to dim the LED as well.
Thank you everybody for all the nice explanations, without you I would have never figure out how to hook things up!!

Thanks to Ofer (2SSRS) I have my footwell lighting installed, WITH A PLUG AND PLAY SOLUTION, no T-Taps needed!!! (yes it's a bit more expensive this way, but I like it better)
the harness plugs inline with the roof harness - behind the right kick panel. I can post up pics if there is some interest |

Where would you tap into for power and ground for rear footwells if you wanted to have them come on with the dome?
Is there a way to do that without wires showing? and without a switch like a previous poster had? |

There is a DIY in here some where, you have to lift up the rear seat, then you can fish the wires under the carpet into the center console area, then tie them into the wires for the front. search rear seat removal or something like that. I would but I am going to bed finally LOL sorry.
